Hot off the press in the newest launches in skincare is the NEW Clarins Multi-Active Day and Night Cream. I really love Clarins for both make-up, bodycare and skincare – they really get it right! Before reformulating, Clarins asked women across the world aged between 30 and 39 what they thought affected their beauty most. Lack of sleep and stress were the most popular responses – I’m not surprised!

The encapsulation of the teasel means ‘it directly targets and penetrates the fibroblast where it will release revitalizing teasel, making it 40% more effective in targeting and repairing the fibroblast than if it wasn’t encapsulated.’

I will talk about the day cream first. The Multi-Active Day Cream is a multi-tasking skin cream that helps to target the fine lines that you get in your 30s. It gets some help from the new Myrothamnus extract, a South African plant with the ability to tolerate extremely dry conditions of its natural habitat and one who has a remarkable capacity to survive intense water deprivation during the dry season.This extract works to minimise the signs of stress on the skin. It also hydrates, restores radiance and maintains smoother skin.
The texture of the cream is light enough for day and doesn’t feel greasy – it sinks in smoothly and sits well under make-up too. The cream is even tinted slightly pink, just like the jar (cute). The Multi-Active Day Cream also contains ‘radiance’ pigments developed after two years of research. So this would be perfect on no make-up days because the cream instantly enhances your complexion. The scent is also amazing – with floral-fruity notes of cherry and white lily.
Now what about at night? At night skin needs to restore itself after a hard day’s work. The magic ingredient in Multi-Active Night is Californian poppy extract – this will help to protect the skin to reduce signs of lack of sleep. This kind of poppy closes at night to regenerate itself and has a proven ability to help compensate for the harmful effects of late nights and interrupted sleep. Honestly – working women, mothers – this is for you! Again the texture feels rich but not too heavy and it smells beautiful and luxurious with notes of asmine, freesia and heliotrope.
