I am a big advocate of the philosophy that what you put inside your body is just as (or more than) important than what you put on it and has everything to do with the way your skin may or may not look. I am also a big fan of skin supplements and have been using them for years. Over time however, I have heard that taking a more whole food supplement (i.e. powders) as opposed to pill forms are better for you because your body absorbs it more naturally. So when Skinade approached me to do a 30 day trial with them I was intrigued. Again, I am no stranger to a skin supplement but was interested to see the difference between a pill formula and a powder formula (in this case Skinade) that claimed to have a much higher absorption rate.
Skinade is an anti-ageing collagen drink that contains a patent-pending formulation of active ingredients which helps to actually boost your body’s own production of collagen and hyaluronic acid – yay! I am now into day 17 and already feel my skin is plumper and more hydrated than before. Someone even asked me if I had been away recently on holiday. I don’t have wrinkles but I do have fine lines around my eyes as well as light smile lines and I notice that if I am not taking care of my nutrition, the first place I can see it is in my eyes. Luckily they have plumped out even after 17 days of using this.
The drinks tastes like peach and I love that I can just have a tasty drink in the morning as opposed to a supplement. It’s easy! You don’t have to take a multi-vitamin with Skinade as that is the only supplement you will need to take (so this was not boosted by anything else).
The ingredient that I was really excited to see in Skinade that is extremely hard to find in supplement formula for some reason is MSM which is an organic sulphur. I remember reading that MSM was amazing for skin ages ago and it was always my plan to order the supplement. What it does is that it helps collagen and keratin form, improves elasticity and inhibits cross-linking of collagen cells, which is a major cause of ageing. Hey, what’s not to love?
So what’s really exciting about Skinade is that due to the liquid formation, the collagen and essential ingredients have a 90% to 95% absorption rate by the body compared to a regular pill supplement which can be only 30-40%. That’s a huge difference!
The amazing thing as well as that I’ve actually already seen a plumpness to my skin and I’m really pleased with this product so far! This would be a great ongoing supplement to take or if you were getting ready for say a wedding or big event and wanted your skin to be glowy for it then I would recommend this.
