I am a firm (no pun intended) believer in natural, non-invasive skincare solutions so when I had the chance to review a CACI Facial at the Tracie Giles Clinic in Knightsbridge, I was excited to have the opportunity and to learn more about this facial that Hollywood celebs rave about.
Tracie treats celebrities and press at her clinic and has a long list of clients using the CACI Facial Treatment.
One celebrity fan of CACI in general is Jennifer Lopez, who is known for her amazingly youthful look. So whatever is working for J-Lo, I want to know about it!
I don’t have any wrinkles to be concerned about at the moment but I always live by the rule that prevention is better than the cure so like to take good care of my skin and prevent the wrinkles from showing up in the first place, as naturally as I can. I use a lot of organic products for my skin but sometimes it needs an extra boost in the form of a facial and in this case, a CACI Facial.
Using the CACI toning system is pretty much just like sending your face to the gym! To keep it really simple, think of it as one of those microcurrent ab toner machines – but for the face.
CACI works by using a microcurrent to tone, lift and re-educate the muscles back to their original position. The microcurrent works on improving skin tissue and will encourage healing and repair, e.g. acne scarring, blemishes, sun damage, etc.
I was a little nervous to try it until I learned that the microcurrent works in harmony with the body’s own bio-electrical field. The body works from electrical impulses and the impulses provided by microcurrant are very similar.
I tried a mini-treatment that lasted about 20 minutes, targeting the area around my eyes which probably looked tired after a long week. The treatment feels like a really hard massage and there is a bit of a pinch when the therapist pulls back on the skin but nothing that is very painful. So it’s definitely not something to be scared of!
The thing about CACI treatments is that you have to continue to get them to maintain the lifted appearance of your skin- to keep that refreshed look. So if you wanted one treatment it would work really well if you had an event that you had to be at and you wanted to be looking very refreshed and youthful, much like if your face just went to the gym! One treatment lasts about five days.
However, to maintain your skin’s tone you have to do a recommended course of 10-15 treatments at a minimum of 2 x per week.
I noticed a definite improvement around my eye area after my mini-treatment. They looked notibly refreshed and lifted, like I had gotten a really good sleep. I was told the next day by a coworker that I was looking great that day (perhaps it was the CACI)!
After the CACI toning treatment I was recommended to take home a CACI Amino Lift Peptide Complex. The complex inhibits the contraction of facial muscles responsible for expression lines and contains amino acids and peptides that target fine lines and improve firmness. Studies have shown that wrinkle depth is reduced by 26% after 28 days and 45% after two months!
I also took home a Hydro Mask which is an intesive hydrating mask that has a soothing and calming action on the skin. It replenishes dehydrated skin and is like a tall glass of water for parched skin. I will be taking this with me the next time I go on a long haul flight!
