I recently attended a Superdrug press day and took part in a Superdrug Swap Shop, which is a genius idea from Superdrug. At the event, I filled out a little form where I listed my everyday branded products that I use, including the following:
Colgate Whitening Toothpaste £6.99
Elizabeth Arden Flawless Futures Face Serum £48.00
Antipodes Hosanna H2o Serum £27.99
Salon Science Swiss Apple Shampoo/Conditioner £15.00
Rituals Shower Foam £15.00
Superdrug then took the list of these branded products and suggested some of their own brands to use as a substitute. Based on the calculations, I could save a whopping £445.62 a year by switching to Superdrug’s own brands!
How they worked out a savings of £445.62? This was based on the average person’s use of 6 tubes of toothpaste a year, 8 bottles of serum, 6 bottles of shampoo, 6 bottles of conditioner and 6 bottles of shower gel.
Here are some of the products they have suggested for the swap…
To start off with, I have been recommended Superdrug’s Own Strawberry and Raspberry Shower Foam as a swap for Rituals Shower Foam. I have to confess that I love a good shower foam because I like the texture and feel of them and to me, they seem more gentle than applying straight shower gel on the body. And this is the first time I’ve seen a shower foam for £1.99!
I also love a good whitening toothpaste to keep my teeth shiny and bright and seeing as I have currently run out of my Colgate one, the Superdrug substitute is taking over. Their Pro Whitening Toothpaste is £1.99.
In place of my Salon Science shampoo and conditioner the next swap is the Superdrug Pro Vitamin Daily Nourish: With an RRP of £2.29 for the shampoo and conditioner (each) this is a significant savings over what I am already spending on hair products. I should also note that all their own-brand stuff is BUAV approved (no cruelty to animals).
Okay, Superdrug, now you have my attention!
Superdrug also has a great range called B. and I have used this range previously and really like it. In place of my Antipodes and Elizabeth Arden serums, they recommend the B. Radiant Rejuvating Serum.
It promises an intense boost for a perfected glowing complexion and helps to reduce the visible effects of ageing. And for a serum it’s a very good price at £9.99.
Next up is the B. Nourished Night Serum. It promises that you will wake up with a ‘soft, replenished complexion’ and helps to protect against the first signs of ageing. Again, the £9.99 price tag is very, very reasonable – a sliver of the price at what I am already spending.
