I love to travel (and always have) but getting Christmas gifts for people who love to travel can sometimes be tricky. Sure you may think of things like passport covers, hidden travel bum bags and compression stockings which sound like an obvious choice but there’s more out there! Here are some great gifts for those always on-the-go and jet-setting off to their next destination.
Plane outfits. They are a thing. Just look them up on Pinterest and you will see a whole host of boards created to inspire the perfect outfit for travel. While I’m travelling ,comfort is key. I like being comfortable and that means that I tend to go for the sports luxe look when on the plane. I love these Calvin Klein Modern Cotton Joggers – they are super comfy and they would make the perfect outfit for the plane paired with a cosy jumper. I like to travel in style so these are a great gift for a friend or family member who loves to travel or likes that sports luxe look on the weekend.
I have to admit that I am absolutely obsessed with luggage. The obsession started and it’s not going away anytime soon! One of my favourite luggage brands is American Tourister for the stylish and functional luggage they make. For short trips away, I love the American Tourister Soundbox Spinner in pink. First of all, it’s instantly recognisable at the baggage claim with its bright pink colour and second of all it’s super lightweight and also spins around 360 degrees so makes it really functional for travel on-the-go. The case also expands as well and there is a TSA lock for extra security. All of this adds up to the perfect Christmas gift for someone who loves to travel.
The bag is also perfect for cabin-size travel meaning that if you don’t want to wait to collect your baggage at the baggage claim you don’t have to with this one. This makes a perfect gift for the girl or guy who is always on-the-go. For guys who don’t want a pink suitcase (it’s okay if you do!) there are also a multitude of other colours to choose from.
I travel a lot and work a lot, both of which add up to equal fatigue. So, anything that helps me cope with my demanding schedule is good by me. I’m including the Benenox Overnight Recharge in my travel gift guide because I think it would make an amazing stocking stuffer for people who are always on-the-go. I went to a Benenox event a few weeks ago to learn more about this fab oral supplement which you take right before bedtime to help your body naturally recover.
Benenox essentially helps your body to recover overnight from the pressures of the day and helps you wake up feeling more clear-headed and refreshed. I tried this out for a few days vs. not using it for a few days and I have to say that I did wake up with a little more pep on the days I did use Benenox. The supplement contains mainly honey with sustamine (that has two amino-acids in it – L-Alanine and L-Glutamine) and Vitamin B6. We all know the importance of B vitamins and that they do help to reduce fatigue. The supplement is completely natural so it’s perfectly safe to take and is great for those who have busy, demanding schedules to help them recover overnight and wake up with a little more pep in their step the next day. Highly recommended!
If I’m on a long-haul flight and change planes somewhere in between I always like to wash my face and reapply my skinc are, ready for the next leg of the journey. However, I’ve got quite the skincare regime so not all of my products often fit into the tiny plastic bag allocated by airport security, hence I have to be clever with what I travel with. The Yes to Coconut & Coffee 2-in-1 Scrub & Cleanser Stick is most definitely travel-friendly skincare at its best. Simply swipe the stick across damp skin to cleanse and exfoliate on-the-go and rinse away!
Winter can really dull a person’s skin out. It’s the lack of sun, indoor heating and exposure to the harsh elements that can really get to your skin. The Yes To Grapefruit Bubbling Mask is an easy solution to lifeless skin. This mask uses Grapefruit (smells amazing) and Vitamin C to brighten skin tone. The mask bubbles upon contact with skin and deep cleanses. Perfect for the New Year.
I love a sleep mask when my skin has been feeling out of sorts and is tired, dehydrated and dull. I like using them on long-haul flights as well. I’m loving the Yes To Coconuts Moisturizing Sleeping Mask which of course uses the hero ingredient of Coconut Oil which not only smells amazing but also works to hydrate skin overnight so you wake up looking nourished, not parched. The mask also contains 96% natural ingredients so this is a good mask for green beauty lovers out there too.
I love Invisibobbles so it’s only natural I would love the Ivisibobble Sprunchie which is an 80s-inspired Invisibobble dressed up as a scrunchie, creating a hybrid – the Sprunchie. I never travel with my hair down so like to put it up to prevent it getting oily on a long flight, therefore a Sprunchie seems to be the most likely and stylish choice of the lot.
I’m a big fan of Regenerate, I always have been! I’ve been using their mouthwash lately which also helps to prevent enamel erosion. Once you lose enamel, it’s gone forever so I use the entire range of Regenerate products to keep my enamel healthy. The Regenerate Foaming Mouthwash is something you can add to your tooth care regime to make sure you have covered all the bases! It’s also a great addition to your travel bag to freshen up breath on-the-go. Stocking stuffer anyone?
Self-tanning the face has always been a tricky one for me. This is why I love the Bronzie Ultimate Mini Mitts which are little mitts perfectly designed for the face with one mitt for exfoliating (which you should do before applying any self-tan anywhere on the body) and the other for actually applying the tan on the face and ensuring a flawless, streak-free finish. I try not to expose my face directly to the sun if I don’t have to so self-tan for the face ensures I’ve still got my holiday glow without the UV damage. A perfect travel gift indeed.
Two things happen when I travel. First of all, my skin gets super dry from the long journey on the plane. Second of all, my muscles get really achy from the long journey from the plane. The only thing that can fix me up is a long bath on the other side. And when I say bath I mean one that’s filled with bath salts and oils to soothe both muscles and skin. The Ameliorate Bath Milk Oil is a lovely silky bath oil that has Colloidal Oats, Starflower and Sweet Almond Oils that work to keep your skin hydrated for up to 8 hours post bath. It also pH-balances the skin too so it can get accustomed to its new environment straight off the plane, right away.
I recently went to Australia so really made sure to take all of my Australian skincare with me because, well it’s just more fun that way, right? One of the products I took on my long-haul flight (and trust me that’s a long-haul) was the Jurlique Herbal Recovery Signature Moisturising Cream. I like to keep topped up on moisture when travelling and especially as I was going from winter to summer. This cream is a joy to use – it smells wonderful, it melts into the skin and it absorbs well too. It’s rich without being heavy and it’s all about plumping with this one which is exactly what I needed during such a long journey, so I really put this one to the test!
A hydrating mist is one beauty item I can’t live without whilst travelling – I just find that they wake up my skin and give me continuous boosts of hydration whilst in that dry plane air. The Jurlique Herbal Recovery Signature Mists are one of the best out there – if you’ve tried the cult-classic Rosewater variety you know what I mean. As I say, if you know, you know. The Jurlique Herbal Recovery Signature Mist is part of the new Herbal Recovery range (which I featured on my Instagram Stories not too long ago). This mist contains a lovely mix of hydrating botanicals including Japanese Cedar Bud, Yarrow, Viola Tricolor and Citrus Unishu peel. You can also use this as a toner after cleansing to help prep and rebalance the skin.
The Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream is a classic – what does it NOT do? I love the Limited Edition packaging on the most recently launched version as well. The balm helps everything, which is why I always carry it in my bag when I’m travelling. I use it on lips, hands, cuticles and even under my nose because my nose gets really dry on a flight. Other hacks for the Eight Hour Cream include highlight for the cheeks and as a brow shaper. The formula contains anti-inflammatory properties as well, so you can use this on minor skin irritations too.
You absolutely need to put SPF if travelling during the day in a plane. UV rays are much stronger at 40,000 feet in the air so SPF on the face and lips is a must-do. I love the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant with SPF 15 for this very thing. It treats dry lips and protects at the same time – what’s not to love?
