As a new mum, I don’t get much time to myself. I mean, when I think about it, I know two things are usually true – I’m always the last to eat and the last one to bed! Sometimes during the day, I have little time to eat – I’m juggling my own business and looking after a baby – so often by the time I think of lunch it’s nearly 3 p.m. So I want to tell you about one of the best ready to eat snacks I’ve found so far!
When I’m thinking of daytime meals or ready to eat snacks, I’m always looking for something that’s easy to grab on-the-go. And it has to be something that’s healthy and also quick. One thing that I’ve been loving lately are the Sambazon Ready to Eat Açaí Bowls. I love these because you can personalise them (by adding your own toppings) and make them into either a quick snack or an actual meal that’s tailored to you.
The Sambazon Ready to Eat Açaí Bowls are perfect ready to eat snacks and already come with granola topping so you can easily eat this as a snack. What I like to do is add my own fruit and a scoop of nut butter to make this into a healthy lunch. I usually use blueberries but you can add any kind of topping you want – berries, nuts, coconut flakes, bee pollen or nut butter to really pack a punch.
The Samabazon Ready to Eat Açaí Bowls come in two amazing flavours – Açaí Superberry and Berry Bliss. They are vegan and organic as well so you know you are making a healthy choice. Fair Trade, organically-grown, ethically sourced – what’s not to love?
Another thing I worry about when eating ready to eat items is the packaging waste. HOWEVER – the packaging of the Sambazon Ready to Eat Açaí Bowls is made of plant fibre and the bowls are completely compostable. How good is that?
If you didn’t know how good Açaí (pronounced ah-sigh-EE) was for you let me tell you a few facts.
Açaí berries come from the Açaí palm tree, which grows in Central and South America. They’re bluish-purple and similar in size and shape to large blueberries. People native to the Amazon have been using Açaí berries for their health benefits for many years.
Açaí really are the super berry of all berries – they are believed to have more antioxidants than any other berry (including raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, blackberries and cranberries)! Anything with antioxidants is good for the immune system and also skin as well – interestingly enough Açaí is rich in omega-3, omega-6, and omega-9 fatty acids which of course help the skin stay smooth and supple from the inside out.
The bowls take a max of 15 minutes to thaw from frozen and the Açaí is so smooth and creamy – it is delicious. I’ve been loving them during the heat wave that we have been having in the UK and honestly – I will happily continue eating them as they are so quick and easy.
The Sambazon Ready to Eat Açaí Bowls are available from Whole Foods and are currently 20% off until the end of August so for ready to eat snacks – go, go, go! You can actually get them from the Whole Foods site which will direct you to Deliveroo where you can get them ordered to your door.
