Postpartum Hair Loss: My Hair Regrowth Journey

Let’s talk about postpartum hair loss. Because for me it feels like something that goes on forever and ever. Of course, you stop losing hair at some point and this is the good part because then it’s all about the regrowth phase. But this can take a long time and it can feel like you have constant patches and/or flyaways in places that you previously didn’t have them. The key thing during this period is to use products that are targeted to hair growth.

And that leads us to…the scalp. In my quest for thicker hair postpartum, I’ve realised that scalp health is EVERYTHING. Like really truly, everything. If you take care of the scalp (which essentially is an extension of your face), you will see a difference in your hair. And it makes sense right? Hair grows from the scalp, so if we nourish the area where the hair growth occurs from, then surely the hair growth will improve.

Once I realised that the scalp was the key to all my hair regrowth and recovery, I wanted to invest in products I knew would help it grow.

During the last few weeks, I’ve been testing out the Vegamour GRO range which uses plant-based formulas with clinical studies to prove that it works. I love that this range focuses on scalp-care which I know WORKS when it comes to hair growth. Here’s the routine that has been working for me…

I start with the Vegamour GRO Detoxifying Scalp Serum as a weekly pre-shampoo detox to help remove excess oil and product buildup – I love that this is so simple to use. This serum contains proprietary phyto-actives, vegan proteins and minerals that are designed to work in tandem for optimal scalp and hair wellness. I simply apply to my scalp and massage in for 1-2 minutes (which also feels so nice) and then leave on anywhere from 5-10 minutes while I do other things to get ready.

Another thing I suffer with when it comes to hair is a really oily scalp. I think since starting to use this serum, it’s really helped to mitigate the oiliness. It’s got Zinc PCA in it to help absorb excess oils but also soothe the scalp at the same time. I also love that this helps to support a healthy scalp microbiome and protects the scalp not only from environmental aggressors but also moisturises and balances the scalp skin. This also helps with dandruff and hair shedding if that’s something that you suffer with.

You can use this once a week and really I do think it’s such a wonderful product – it also has no sulfates, silicones, parabens, gluten and is free from artificial fragrance.

I love using this as part of the Vegamour routine so follow this with the Vegamour GRO Shampoo and Conditioner. They smell incredible and I really enjoy using these when I’m doing an ‘everything shower’.

The Vegamour GRO Shampoo is formulated with the same plant-based ingredients found in the best-selling GRO Hair Serum (which I will talk about), hence it is going to work on scalp care. This product uses state-of-the-art, microencapsulation technology to deliver fast-acting phyto-actives deep beneath the scalp’s surface (in only thirty seconds) to promote thicker, fuller and longer looking hair.

All of the GRO products are also safe for colour-treated hair. And if you are looking for glass hair results well, this is the one. This formula contains Karmatin (a 100% vegan silk keratin) to smooth, strengthen and restore damaged follicles. For those with postpartum hair loss, it’s a dream product!

You wouldn’t think a shampoo could do this but it can increase the appearance of hair density by up to 52% and reduce signs of shedding by up to 76%. How much better can you get?

I follow my shampoo routine with the Vegamour GRO Revitalizing Conditioner which is AMAZING. I apply a quarter-size amount, massage in and leave for a few minutes while I finish the rest of my shower.

I will say it again. I LOVE that these products are for everyday use, with no known toxins or hormones. When you are postpartum or trying to conceive, these things are so important to note. With the GRO Revitalising Conditioner it was love at first sight – this has all the goodies of the GRO Serum as well as wild harvested marula oil, organic murumuru butter and ximenia oil that help to condition, hydrate and fight scalp damaging free radicals without imparting pore-blocking residue.

My hair is fine, prone to shedding AND I have an oily scalp but this conditioner leaves my hair feeling super soft but without feeling weighed down. Honestly – it’s so good!

The last step in my hair wellness routine is the Vegamour GRO Hair Serum which is a real heavy-hitter in the fight against hair fall! My hair fall was at its worst about 4 months postpartum and since then I’ve been growing it back. Obviously, this is due to hormonal changes but so many things can affect hair loss – stress, sleep, poor scalp health, etc. I love this hair serum because it is so easy to use everyday and doesn’t make my hair feel greasy. You simply apply a dropper full of the serum directly to your scalp and massage in – it’s great! I really like doing this at night before I go to bed to let the product really sink in overnight.

I really think this entire routine has helped my hair regrowth so so much and the fact that all the products are working together as well does wonders for my hair.

The GRO Hair Serum uses a combination of clinically-tested, vegan phyto-actives that work in tandem to help support a healthy and balanced follicular ecosystem while soothing the scalp and revitalizing hair roots. It’s also free of toxic chemicals, carcinogens or harmful side effects and increases the appearance of hair density while reducing signs of shedding.

I love my new routine so hope you have enjoyed this post about postpartum hair loss. Let me know if you have suffered from postpartum hair loss and what worked for you? I hope these tips have really helped and just remember – scalp care is everything!
