If you have been to New Look recently you will notice some seriously cool SS16 styles – culottes, off-the-shoulder tops, bodysuits, dresses and more – all at a reasonable price. New Look is really good for picking up trend-led seasonal pieces as these will see you through the season without a serious investment. I’ve recently picked up a few items for this in-between weather.
First up a faux leather jacket. I was really looking for one recently as my other one has started to fall apart. Faux leather is kind to the environment and no cows are harmed in the making of faux-leather products! I love this new black leather look jacket that I picked up this weekend. It’s perfect for the in-between weather and under the sleeves is a sweater-like fabric that makes it really easy to push this up your arm for a really cool look. It’s also around the £30 mark so it’s a reasonable investment for a jacket for this ever-changing British weather.
And although the necklace in the below image isn’t for sale (I received this at the New Look press day) I absolutely adore it. It’s a simple necklace with my initials engraved on it. It looks really expensive and it gave me an idea. How easy would it be to purchase some jewellery and get it engraved? It makes it look really classy and timeless. I will be wearing this non-stop this summer. However you can buy something similar here.
I’ve paired the jacket with a leather-look skirt from H&M to go for an all-over leather style.
I’ve also chosen these BCBG shoes that I picked up in the States awhile ago. They are the most comfortable heels I have ever worn and the shoes give this whole look a feminine feel which I like.
You can also take off the jacket to reveal a more feminine look with this New Look bodysuit. I am so excited about the return of the bodysuits because I am a girl of the 90s and used to rock a bodysuit like no other. So I am really excited that they are back on trend this season. They look seamless underneath a skirt – I love them!
