Spring beckons – it’s just around the corner! So I felt it was appropriate to start talking about spring make-up, considering most of the products in this post have just launched anyways! I’m covering lips to lashes in these Springtime Make-Up Favourites so stay tuned and come along for the ride!
First up is Too Faced Melted Liquified Lipsticks and you will love what they have done – they have released a range of chocolate brown and shimmering caramel colours that actual taste like chocolate too! The colour is beautiful – soft and highly pigmented just like if your actual lipstick melted. The formula is really hydrating as well and didn’t dry my lips at all. In March and springtime it’s still a bit cold so still need to protect those lips!
I have three colours out of the six that were launched – Metallic Frozen Hot Chocolate (above), Chocolate Honey (below) and Milkshake (bottom). These three are all seriously yum. They really do taste of chocolate and are a fun twist on brown or nuetral lips. Brown lips are in by the way – it’s all about the 90s!
I’ve swatched the Metallic Frozen Hot Chocolate (left) and the Honey Chocolate (right) below. Which one do you like better? I like the Metallic Frozen Hot Chocolate for its hint of shimmer but also like the Honey Chocolate for its more matte, solid colour.
I’m wearing the Too Faced Chocolate Honey below – the colour is really pigmented and rich and you can really make your lips look plump with these!
For the face I’ve discovered the NEW Benefit Porefessional Matte Rescue. This is a fabulous primer great for oily skin (like mine) because it really cuts the oil and leaves you with a nice matte finish on your face before you apply your foundation. When spring comes and the sun comes out (fingers crossed), oil production increases so this will be a very handy little product to have for when that time comes!
For the face for Spring, I like to go back to naturals and with this I am so excited by Pur Minerals Liquid Veil 4-in-1 Spray Foundation and the Air Perfection CC Cushion Foundation. Both of them are brilliant and deliver really natural-looking results but don’t compromise on the coverage.
I love the Air Perfection CC Cushion Foundation because it allows you to really control how much foundation you are putting on your face. A make-up artist once told me to dab on foundation with a damp sponge for a really natural look and I feel like I really achieve this with the CC Cushion Foundation – it’s really natural but still covers where it needs to and you can always dab on more for the areas where you need it the most.
Next up is another kind of interesting way to apply foundation – in a spray form! So whether it’s by sponge this spring or by air – both of these are really natural looking foundations. I have the Liquid Veil Spray Foundation in Light which is great for my skin tone.
So do you apply direct on your face? NO! Spray first on your hand (you can also use a foundation brush if you want) and then apply. It literally dissolves onto your face and melds into your skin. Really lovely, really natural!
I’ve used the Pur Minerals Liquid Veil Foundation in the below photo. I literally used the smallest amount as well and just dabbed across my forehead and cheeks. It’s very fast and easy as well and because it kind of dissolves onto the skin, it makes it very quick to apply! Great for mornings when you are rushing around.
I also used it in the below photo as well (neither picture is retouched so you can really see the results).
I know I mentioned lashes as well which I am usually hopeless with. However, Eylure has just come out with Express Pre-Glued Lashes (yay!) – which are perfect for the false lash hopeless person like me. I’ve used them in the above picture – they are so easy and fast to put on and this is really coming from someone who rarely wears false lashes but I really loved these because they are easy and fast!
Eyelure pretty much has the lash for everyone! From Fleur de Force to Cheryl Cole, to lashes for definition and lengthening – there is no way that there is not a lash for you! And I am so happy to discover my lash – which is most certainly the Express Lashes.
Eylure also does products for the brows – like this great wax below. My brows can tend to get unruly at times so I found this wax to keep them in their place!
So what do these Eylure Express Lashes look like on? See below – I was really happy with these and honestly they took about one minute to apply – great for a busy person like myself!
