I am a bit of a fragrance junkie. I love perfumes, eau de toilettes, body sprays and more. I choose my fragrance each morning very carefully, to match my mood, to boost confidence or to feel a certain way. Fragrances in themselves are mood boosters, it’s been scientifically proven. They can make you feel uplifted, sexy, powerful, confident or calm. Basically they are feelings – simply bottled up! Fragrance is also very personal which makes it all the ever more special. We all have a special one that we love and cherish or one that reminds us of a special memory. The only bad thing about fragrances are that they contain a lot of chemicals – yikes! As beautiful as they are, some of them contain a lot of alcohol and can dry the skin out (and please don’t spray them in your hair). Therefore I was very intrigued to discover Nudeite Parfum, a natural perfume house.
Nudeite Parfum has a very different approach to beauty because it’s not only a natural perfume house but also a design collective. The bottles are like a show-piece that resemble a small vase or hand-crafted pottery. They look beautiful on a shelf and are a beauty product disguised as art – you would never know by looking at the bottle that it was perfume. In that way it becomes a talking point in itself – a secret treasure you may want to keep for yourself or something that you show to guests who visit your home. The brand fuses both ‘artisan crafts and a love of minimalist beauty’ and you can really see that with these handmade pieces that hold the fragrance.
These pieces are meant to be kept forever as you can refill your fragrance when it runs out. This is better for the environment in the long run and reduces waste. You can also choose your colour of packaging (white, grey, nude or dark brown).
So let’s talk about the formula of the fragrances. The ingredients of each perfume are entirely natural – this is a perfume oil that we are talking about and one you can use without worrying about what kind of chemicals you are putting on your skin. Not only does this appeal to everyone but I imagine this would also be a dream for those with sensitive skin (and who cannot handle the ingredients in some traditional fragrances), someone with allergies or a woman who is pregnant/nursing.
These are truly luxury fragrances – the organic oils are high-quality and the amount of each fragrance is quite generous at 90ml. A little of this goes a long way. I literally put a drop on my wrist and massaged it into both wrists. These fragrances are investment purchases – something unique and beautiful to keep for a long time.
There are 12 types of fragrances to choose, from Moon Child to Band of Angels. My chosen fragrance is Band of Angels which is an exotic jasmine scent. And who doesn’t love jasmine? It’s a timeless and classic scent – feminine and floral but strong at the same time. The oil sinks in easily and doesn’t leave a trace behind. Its nice to massage the oil into the pulse points and I can see this becoming a very calming ritual!
The great thing about the inspiration about Band of Angels is that it relates to travel and memories of the far east – travelling across the Indian continent like a band of angels. And who wouldn’t want to do that?
In addition to the perfume oils, Nudeite also makes solid perfume ‘pebbles’. These are so interesting as they actually look like flat stones and fit into a bag perfectly. I even use mine as a ‘positivity stone’ – when you see it or rub it you have to think of something that you are grateful for. This makes it a lovely pick-me-up throughout the day.
