Bobbi Brown is known for its high performance make-up and amazing quality and I have been wanting to review the brand forever and ever. I recently went into the Bobbi Brown Covent Garden Studio to get a full make-up lesson by the lovely Alessandra who talked me through all things Bobbi from skincare prep to make-up and down to the last step. It was a great intro to the brand and to the products and I definitely found some things that I loved and had to have for myself. So from that lesson, I’ve selected a few of my favourite things and here they are…
One of my favourite summer beauty must-haves from Bobbi Brown is the Telluride Highlighter. Bobbi has a house in Telluride, Colorado and this palette was inspired by the warm, mauve shades of a Telluride sunset. The colour is absolutely beautiful with warm, shimmery tones that you can build up. So if you are not a big fan of highlighter or are a big fan of highlighter, this highlighter you will surely fall in love with as I did, for both its gorgeousness and beautiful warm, natural colour that it gives to the complexion. I would apply this with a fan brush to give the complexion just the right amount of glow that it needs.
Another summer favourite of mine is the Bobbi Brown Silver Lilac Eyeshadow. This is a gorgeous opal lavender shade that has some sparkle to it that you can build up or add on top of an already plum colour. For my smokey eye, Alessandra layered the Ivory Eye Shadow all over and then on the lower lid the Velvet Plum Cream Shadow. She then used the Silver Lilac just on top of the Velvet Plum to create an instant sparkle to the eye. Seriously gorgeous! The plum shade is also perfect for me because I have green eyes.
A very interesting product that I discovered was the Corrector. This literally banished the dark circles under my eyes and made me look a lot more awake than I was! This product nuetralises darkness under the eyes and is waterproof. It’s creamy and blended in amazingly. I don’t usually wear under eye product simply because I have a hard time blending it in and it often makes me look older. Not this one – really good if you suffer from dark circles. All you need to do is apply it in the inner corner of the eye and blend down.
For the face I love the Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick. It’s an amazing little stick that you can carry around in your bag for touch ups on the go or whenever you may need it. I love it for its ease of travel and convenience. I will definitely pack this on my bags when I go on holiday! It also corrects any skin tone issues and you can use it to spot treat as well. For example, on the weekends I don’t like to wear a lot of make-up so this is really good if you want to just touch up areas but don’t want to use foundation all over. This magic stick even contains emollients such as olive extracts and shea butter to help moisturise skin so you won’t see this puppy drying out on you during the day!
And last but not least is the Bobbi Brown Intensive Serum Foundation with SPF 40. This is the dream – what I like to call skincare disguised as make-up. I like my make-up to work just as hard as my skincare (hey, I’m demanding what can I say?) so I love to use foundations that I know are working on anti-ageing during the day. Because the last thing you want to do is spend loads of money on skincare and then use really cheap cosmetics. It just doesn’t make sense. This also contains SPF 40 so is great for the summer in regards to protecting the skin. I always choose a foundation with an SPF because it just allows me to skip that extra step in my routine.
The foundation is formulated with Lychee, Bamboo Grass and Cordyceps Mushroom extracts and helps support skin’s cellular energy so that you look fresh all day. This is a beautiful, super-silky rich foundation with great coverage. And you know it’s working hard too!
