Wouldn’t it be great if we all had thick and luscious hair? Well, if we did I wouldn’t be writing this article. But for the men and women with fine hair like me this article is for us. Sometimes you just need try a new product to find out for yourself if something works for you. Luckily I’ve tried and tested all of these products for you so have a look and explore. Who knows? You might find the product that’s perfect for you. And honestly your mind just might be blown by some of these hair products for fine hair because the products are so darn smart!
I had been itching to get my hands on a Shu Uemura hair product for ages…the man did after all become famous for cleansing oil so I really wondered what kind of magic his haircare products could work on my fine hair. This shampoo is specifically formulated for fine-haired folk like me – it’s gentle and doesn’t strip the hair. So it leaves it soft and shiny and super light! This is also good for volume and contains Himalayan crystal minerals which fortifies the hair fibre with essential minerals. I love this – it’s no-fuss and does what it says it’s going to do! Hair felt light and breezy…
Again this is conditioner that is specifically formulated for fine hair and it’s amazing. It doesn’t weigh hair down but still feels moisturising with lightweight hydration. It also makes the hair fibre stronger so that you are less prone to damage in the future. My hairdresser always tells me that because I have really fine hair I need to be really careful and treat it very nicely.
What if you feel like you really need a hair mask but are worried it might be too heavy? Well, the Muroto Volume Pure Lightness Treatment for Fine Hair is the perfect solution. It’s secret ingredient is Deep Sea Water that contains trace minerals such as magnesium to really purify the hair. If you want a super fine hair fibre then look into this one!
Now Shu Uemura made Cleansing Oil famous. The Japanese were using cleansing oil like it was going out of style for a long time before they became super popular in the West. Most of us have tried a cleansing oil for the face but what about for the hair? Yes I was interested too! This is actually quite a magical product if I say so myself. Just like a cleansing oil – this product transforms from one formula to another. It feels like an oil on but then quickly turns into a foam. This shampoo is great for people who live in cities as well as it tackles buildup and impurities. And the best thing? No silicones in sight.
Not only do I have fine hair but I also suffer from oily roots and dry ends. My hair – because it’s so fine – gets oily at the roots very easily. Which also makes me a chronic addict of dry hair shampoo. But that’s another story and one you can read about HERE. This shampoo is all about balance between the oily roots and dry ends – it uses Glycine and Vitamin B6 to rebalance moisture at the top of the head and all the way down to the ends. And it’s another silicone-free gem!
Not blessed with a thick mane of hair? Well, it’s all about faking it until you make it. This Kerastase Thickening Effect Gel Treatment is actually a translucent gel conditioner. Yes a gel conditioner (genius I know!) Guys this is a smart shampoo as well – it actually works with cationic polymer technology to target vulnerable zones in the hair to add thickness and give a glamorous shine. Can you really ask for more? No but actually the Volumifique delivers even more – it also gives long-lasting shape memory to your hair by reinforcing it. Think of it like muscle memory but for the hair. The smartest shampoo in town.
On days you need extra oomph this is the spray for you. The Volumifique Spray by Kerastase Resistance is a lovely lightweight milky mist that doesn’t weigh hair down but lifts and volumises hair. Again the geniuses at Kerastase use a technology in this product that promotes long-lasting shape memory so the actual structure of your hair changes over time for long-lasting results. Yes, my mind was blown too.
So there you have it. 7 products that will change your hair routine forever (and some amazing products for fine hair too). From shape memory to cleansing oils don’t forget you heard it here first (hopefully)!
