What’s In My Make-Up Case?

I love peeking inside other people’s make-up cases to see what kind of make-up products they are using. It’s kind of an obsession as I love to talk about all things beauty and make-up! So I thought I would do a post to show you what is in my make-up case. But first off, you need to have the right make-up case.

I love these vintage cases from Sass & Belle. They come in a set of three different sizes and look lovely stacked on top of each other. You can easily hide everything inside of them and there is no mess left behind. I am big on organisation and these cases help me keep it all together!

Okay, so what’s inside? I am loving NYX at the moment. Their make-up has really great colour and pigments in it and it’s a great price for what you get.

Let’s talk about basics first. This NYX Baked Eyeshadow in White Noise (below) is the perfect base for everyday eyeshadow and the Glo & Ray Velvet Two Way Cake Powder (below) is a fantastic powder foundation that leaves your skin perfectly matte. I use it as a finishing powder and always get compliments that my skin looks glowing. It really sets your make-up as well.

I’ve recently been introduced to the Scream & Pout Shine On Sunsentuals Colour Kit. This is a lovely set of nuetral ‘sunkissed’ shades that are great for this time of year when the summer is fading but you can still rock a summer glow.

DSC_0348

This is an eye, lip and cheek palette and the formula of everything in the palette is a creme-based so it’s great for blending and highlighting. The four colours on the left-side are for the eyes and the two in the middle are for the cheeks and the two on the far right side are for the lips!

For a bit of subtle shimmer I am loving the Glo & Ray Longwear Mousse Eyeshadow in Mirage (below). This colour is buildable and lasts for ages without creasing on your eyelid. I am really loving creme-based formulas these days because they blend well and give a better glow.

DSC_0350

As you can see, the colour is subtle – a light khaki shade that has a lovely shimmer. It’s light but that’s what I like as you can use this everyday!

DSC_0352

For blush I am LOVING this pop of peach colour from NYX Baked Blush Illuminator + Bronzer. It truly does illuminate the skin and I apply it just on the apple of my cheeks. I love the peach colour – it makes me look fresh and bright!

Now I am a true believer that a girl can never have too many lipsticks! I have them in every shape and size and wouldn’t dream of parting with them.

Some of my favourites are from NYX. Their Macaroon range has amazing colours – even green and purple! I choose to save these ‘crazy’ colours for special occasions like festivals and carnivals – I rocked the purple shade over the weekend at the Notting Hill Carnival!

To prep the lip before lipstick application, I am loving Becca Lip Priming Perfector. This primes and smooths lips for long-wearing colour. It contains hyaluronic filling spheres which plump lips and is also very hydrating too!

If I am not in the mood for lipsticks, I go for glosses – at the moment I am using Scream & Pout Glo Gloss in Sunset, NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in La La and the NYX Lip Liner Pencil in Hot Pink (below). You can also see what the Becca Lip Primer looks like as well (second from the bottom in the below image).

NYX also has amazing Butter Lipsticks which are creamy, dreamy and pack a punch with the pigment!

I am rocking shades (below and above) in NYX Matte Lipstick in Shy, NYX Lip Smacking Fun Colours in Shiva and NYX Butter Lipstick in Razzle Fiesta.

I’ve also been playing with Butter London lipstick and have loved the results! The formula is super creamy, hydrating and feels good on the lips.

I’ve got a gorgeous berry shade in Loved Up. This is a perfect shade for fall!

For the face, I am loving Gosh #Foundation Drops. These are incredible! Simpy apply a few drops to your face and it feels like a second skin. This is a much more reasonable alternative to Cover FX Custom Cover Drops. The formula contains SPF 10 and it really does feel so silky against the skin and blends amazingly. Highly recommended! Another product to help set the make-up is the NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray. If you suffer from running make-up this is a great little power product to help make make-up stay put all day and night!

I’ve used the Gosh Foundation Drops on my hand below but you can’t see anything which is exactly the point. This blends so well – I’m really impressed!

A fragrance that I am loving these days is Hugo Boss Woman. This is a sweet-smelling fragrance that is perfect for day or night. To me, I can really smell berries coming out of this and it’s true that the top notes contain boysenberry and Himalayan Red Grass. Very interesting indeed!

DSC_0382

As you can see, this is not your typical scent and there are some unusual addictions to it that make it quite intriguing. The heart notes of the fragrance are composed of jasmine and aromatic black tea, finished off by a base note of amber. The amber gives it a rather sexy edge.

DSC_0383

This is an eau de parfum so the scent lasts for quite some time. This is a great all-round fragrance that could take you anywhere to be honest – on holiday, on a date, to work – so if you are looking for something that you can where everywhere, this fragrance is perfect.

Wait, there’s more vanity-case madness! I want to tell you all about the NYX Stick Blush. I actually keep this in my bag now for blush touch ups on the go. It has a lovely pink colour which gives your cheeks a young, healthy pinch of pink. I am also loving the Mini Beauty Blender (below). This helps me the most with blending concealer underneath my eyes, right in the corner where it’s hard to reach. It’s very small and reaches in hard places – around the nose, corners of the eye etc.

DSC_0388

I couldn’t forget about eyes! The windows to the soul, eyes should always be accentuated but not disguised. For the eyes I have been using NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Pure Gold to smudge around the outside or even as a creme eyeshadow.

DSC_0389

For the lashes, I am using Eyeko Sport Waterproof Mascara because with all this rain, I am worried about my mascara running down my face! And that’s one thing I can’t stand is running mascara. This keeps my mascara in place, exactly where it belongs.

Another cool product I am using from Eyeko is the Me & My Shadow Waterproof Shadow Liner. This has a brush on one side so you can use it to ‘smudge’ the liner to create a smoky eye. This colour is in Bronze and as you can see I am really loving shimmery metallics at the moment for my eyes!

I am also using the Glo & Ray Fumo Silky Eyebrown Pencil for my brows. This is the perfect colour of brown for me and the formula is soft and glides on really easily, not like some of those hard pencils where you can’t actually get any colour to come off of! Because it glides on and is soft, it’s easy to control for the perfect eyebrows!
