What’s On My #Shelfie?

I have an unhealthy obsession with wanting to know what kind of beauty products that people are using and have a peek into their bathroom to see what is hiding on their shelves. So I decided that today I am going to show you what is on my bathroom #shelfie!DSC_0411

First off I am using eSalon Big Softie Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner. I love the smell of both of these and they really brighten up my mornings! eSalon has a range of haircare products and also does an at-home salon quality professional colour service where they custom-blend a colour for you! I will be covering this in a separate post and am currently waiting on my specially blended colour to arrive so I can try it out at home.

The Volumizing shampoo (below) is sulfate-free and is meant for fine or limp hair (my hair is fine) to give it an extra boost. It’s also good for colour-treated hair. The formula is gentle and I don’t feel like it is stripping my hair when I wash it.

The Volumizing conditioner (below) is light enough not to weigh my hair down and it smells amazing too!

At the moment I am also using eSalon Colour Illuminating Shine Spray. I just spray this on dry hair from mid-length to the ends of my hair for a lovely shine boost!

Fragrance wise, it depends on my mood! I like bottles that really add some pizazz to my bathroom so recently I have been turning to 007 for Women Eau de Parfum on those days I feel like I want to kick some serious #$% – in the best possible way! This is a new fragrance, brought to us by the same people who made 007 Cologne for men. The fragrance embodies the ultimate Bond woman – which is why I use it on the days that I want to kick some serious #$%!

The bottle is a beautiful black bejewelled ornament which sits nicely on any bathroom shelf.

The top notes are bergamot, black pepper and rose milk with a heart of blackberry, gardenia and jasmine which finally smooths out into a seductive base of black vanilla, cedarwood and white musk. It’s soft and sensual – I can really smell the rose milk, black vanilla and blackberry coming out of this – the berry and floral notes are really softed by the addition of the rose milk. I think this would be great to wear on a day if you want to be taken seriously! It’s perfect for date night though and I can see this being great for autumn/winter because of its soft and sensual nature. It is also an eau de parfum, meaning that it has a high concentration of fragrance oils and therefore, the scent will last longer!

So we have talked about a serious fragrance but what if you are in the mood to be playful? These days, especially with the frequent changes in weather from hot to cold, sunny to rainy, I have been turning to Ghost Girl on my ‘sunny’ days. This is a newly launched fragrance and it screams playful!

So what does it smell like? Well, I can really smell the top notes in this which are fresh pomegranate, crunchy pear and orange blossom. So this is certainly a fruity fragrance…

But wait, what is that coming through the base notes? It’s cedarwood and musky amber, giving this a slight edge. It’s girly with a kick and it’s perfect for end-of-summer days when you are feeling light and bright.

In my bathroom I like to keep it fresh. And by fresh, I mean Fresh. Fresh, the brand – has an amazing skincare as well as a bath and body line that focuses on natural ingredients. Everything about this brand is simply gorgeous.

So to keep things fresh, I like to use pretty soaps. And nothing is prettier than the Fresh soaps. I have the Verbena soap (especially for Libra, but actually I am a Virgo). But I love the scent of Verbena and the citrus really wakes you up in the mornings.

The Libra Oval Soap contains moisturising shea butter and is hand-wrapped in artisanal paper with an illustration of the Libra symbol. What is a lovely added touch is the wire tied around the soap with an aventurine stone. The Zodiac soaps are amazing and you can pick the soap to go with your star sign!

Fresh also does skincare and when I had a chance to pick something from the Fresh collection, I went for the Peony Spot-Correcting Brightening Essence because I am spot-prone and get pigmentation spots very easily due to a fair skin tone.

DSC_0429

The Essence contains a lot of ingredients that help to brighten the skin and reduce imperfections including peony and licorice root extracts and vitamin C glucoside which is proven to reduce and prevent the appearance of dark spots and even skin tone.

The formula is light and sinks into skin easily without irritating it or leaving a greasy film.

Since we are talking about skincare, what should be on every bathroom shelf is an Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair. There is a reason that this serum is raved about by pretty much everyone – from top beauty editors to my mom! This cult classic should have a place in your skincare routine. Why? Because it works silly! This is great to use for anyone who is just starting to see the first signs of ageing all the way to those who are already in its throes. The Advanced Night Repair targets multiple signs of ageing, dryness, dehydration (hello, this is me!), lines, wrinkles, dullness and loss of radiance. Yep, that’s pretty much everything! It’s also oil-free which is great for people like me who are also prone to spots and who find a hard time balancing between anti-spot treatments and anti-ageing treatments.

The formula is light, not greasy at all (remember it’s oil-free!) and sinks into the skin like a dream. I have spot-prone skin but found this didn’t irritate my skin at all and also I noticed that my skin looked much more hydrated, resulting in a reduction in fine lines around my eyes. I think this one is worth the money!

Speaking of eyes, a brand that I am really falling in love with is Guinot Paris. The LONGUE VIE YEUX is the third product I have tried from the brand now and I am really loving it. This product really focuses on refreshing the eye area and smoothing it out – something I really need sometimes when I look in the bathroom mirror, especially in the morning!

DSC_0441

The cream itself is refreshing and doesn’t irritate. It contains 56 cellular actives! This is quite simply amazing – the actives help to target all sorts of ageing issues and they always say the first signs of ageing are around your eyes so take care of the skin around them! Prevention is always better than the cure.

So what’s on my shower #shelfie? I love a good scrub and it has to smell good too. I am LOVING the Dolce Dreams Coconut Macaroon Body Scrub – this is a hearty scrub (not wimpy at all) and will work hard at getting rid of dull, flaky skin. You can certainly get a good massage out of it!

DSC_0433

I have actually covered this product previously here and am lucky enough to have gotten another scrub!
