With spring and all the spring cleaning that comes with it, it’s an exciting time to mention The Hero Project – British brand that has just recently launched in the UK. The Hero Project is a brand that creates hero products so you can get rid of all the other clutter in your beauty drawers and focus on the ones you need the most. They look at best-selling products and tweak them to make them even better – how exciting is that?
We all have hero products that we use consistently in our beauty routines so this is a really clever idea. I am actually on a mission to tidy up my living space and get rid of half-used bottles and old make-up so this is a great place to start!
There are currently two hero products in The Hero Project collection that I was able to test out. The interesting thing about The Hero Project is that they invite consumers to actually be a part of their product development. You can send through your ideas on what you need when it comes to skincare and The Hero Project will take this on board – so it is very possible your idea could become the next new product that launches! The key to the project is understanding consumers and what they want through market research (scouring online beauty stores, reviews and beauty blogs) and also improving hero products that are already on the market.
So let’s talk about the two hero products currently in the collection…
The first one I want to talk about is Glow Drops. This is a Dry Touch Facial Oil with Vitamin C and as a facial oil, it is definitely a hero product that everyone needs. The formula is really silky to the touch and as it says on the bottle, it is dry touch so it sinks in really well. This means you can use it in the mornings too whereas with some facial oils (because they are too heavy) can only be used at night. Glow Drops contains over 98% naturally derived ingredients with essential oils and Vitamin C which helps to smooth and brighten.
The Hero Project website is great as well because with both of the hero products, the website gives you clear suggestions on what other products in the market that The Hero Project product compares to. In the case of Glow Drops, it is similar to L’Oreal Age Perfect Extraordinary Facial Oil, Clarins Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil or
Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multi-Usage Dry Oil. This makes it super easy to see if the product is right for you even before you buy it.
The next hero product in the line-up is Hyasoft Instant Moisture Boost. This is a great moisturiser for all skin types as it is oil-free. It contains our favourite hero ingredient hyaluronic acid as well as panthenol (B5) which really hydrates the skin.
Hyasoft also contains different types of hyaluronic acid so it can lock in moisture at different layers of your skin which is fantastic. Again, the formula is non-greasy (it’s a clear gel) and sinks in quickly. I really liked this as a day cream. The Hero Project suggests that if you like Indeed Labs Hydraluron™ Moisture Boosting Facial Serum, Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief or Skinceuticals Hydrating B5 gel you will love Hyasoft. And at a slice of the price it makes it an even better deal!
