Discovering Sönd Skincare and Hero Ingredient Silica

I’ve never really thought about silica previously as a skincare ingredient until I was introduced to Sönd Skincare. When I thought of silica before it was in regards to the water brand Fiji. I always knew that silica was the stuff that made water slippery and soft. Seeing as soft water is really good for your hair and skin it makes complete sense that silica would be a hero ingredient in skincare.

Sönd launched recently (November 2015) but has since been getting great reviews from bloggers, magazines and customers since. It was started after the founder discovered the hero ingredient silica and launched Sönd as a result of the amazing results he saw it bring to damaged or sensitive skin.

I recently got a chance to review Sönd and have been using it for about a month. As mentioned before, the key ingredient in the collection is silica. Silica provides many benefits to the skin including collagen production, hydration, reduction of inflammation and increasing firmness.

Sönd is interesting in the way that it also offers supplements as a part of its offering, which means that with its ranges you are working on skin inside and out. I was really excited to be able to try out the Sönd Energising Mineral Supplements which replenish your skin with essential collagen forming silica to improve the health, function and appearance of your skin from within.

I have to say that I really like these! I did notice an increase in my energy with taking these and perhaps that is because we don’t really get enough silica in our bodies on a day-to-day basis. Not only did my energy levels increase, I believe this did have a good effect on my skin in that it didn’t seem to break out as badly as before.

Moving to the face, I was able to try the Sönd Revitalising Face Serum. This is a really gentle formula that sinks in really easily and is not greasy at all. It doesn’t irritate the skin – so for skin that is prone to breaking out when you change products (me!), this is a great one to use. The serum works on firming and smoothing, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Last but not least I use the Sönd Replenishing Face Oil in the evening before bed. This is lovely and contains coconut oil so really softens the skin. And the softer the skin, the less prone to wrinkles you are! I really love using this at night and the Revitalising Face Serum during the day. So with the three of these products you get a full 360 degree facial system!
