Urban Decay Make-Up – My Top Picks!

I love Urban Decay – who doesn’t love the Naked Palette? I wanted to put together some of my Urban Decay make-up top picks because there are so many cool products coming out now from Urban Decay so I put them all together in this post. I’ve picked classics and new products so will give you the lowdown on all of them. But needless to say I’m pretty pleased overall.

As I said before, who doesn’t love the Urban Decay Naked Palette? I’ve got the Naked 3 and I love it. It’s got every colour under the sun that I would want to wear every.single.day. I work so need neutral colours for every day and some darker colours for a smokey eye which I really need to start to do more often. You only live once after all and there are just only so many smokey eyes a girl can squeeze in…

This palette I would describe as ‘one size fits all’. I think there is a colour combo to suit everyone in this palette, no matter the skin tone or type. I love the rose gold shades all the way to the shimmery browns. There are a few matte colours thrown in for good measure as well.

There are 12 shadows in the Naked 3 Palette and they all have amazing staying power. They blend well, they look good. There is nothing bad I could say about this palette! I also love that this palette comes with a very good brush too. The shade descriptions are as follows:

– Strange: Pale Neutral Pink Matte-Satin
– Dust: Pale Metallic Pink Shimmer with Iridescent Micro-Glitter
– Burnout: Light Pinky-Peach Satin
– Limit: Light Dusty Rose Matte
– Buzz: Metallic Rose Shimmer with Silver Micro-Glitter
– Trick: Light Metallic Pinky-Copper Shimmer with Tonal Micro-Sparkle
– Nooner: Medium Pinky-Brown Matte
– Liar: Medium Metallic Mauve Shimmer
– Factory: Pinky-Brown Satin
– Mugshot: Metallic Taupe Shimmer with Slight Pink Shift
– Darkside: Deep Taupe-Mauve Satin
– Blackheart: Smoky Black Matte with Rosy Red Micro-Sparkle

I’ve swatched my two favourite colours – Trick and Buzz below.

And I’ve added Blackheart below as well – another cool pick.

Another fabulous eyeshadow palette from Urban Decay is the Naked Basics palette. This contains six matte neutral shades that are perfect for every day. This palette is smaller as well which makes it ideal for travel. Again the blendability and the wearability of these shadows are good!

For lips OMG. The Vice Lipsticks are just amazing. There are so many colours to choose from (100)! For a real lipstick junkie like me the entire collection is heaven. I’ve got five amazing shades that I absolutely love. It’s amazing enough that there are 100 colours to choose from and also six finishes among those. The pigment in these lipsticks are incredible. Literally they are amazing. I love lipsticks that are creamy, rich in texture, don’t try my lips out and stay put. These do all that.

The formula of the Vice lipsticks contains aloe vera, jojoba, avocado and babassu oils that nourish and soften lips. Illipe butter (derived from Malaysian illipe trees) provides long-lasting moisture. And vitamin C and vitamin E provide a hit of antioxidants.

So I’ve got five colours of 100 (!) and I love them all. Below is Firebird which is one of my favourites because it is that deep berry shade that I wear time and time again and never goes out of style.

Then there is the Pandemonium below which is a super cool total rock-chick purple. I would so go for this one on weekends and nights out on the town – I love it. It’s bold and gorgeous!

For the face Urban Decay has just launched an All Nighter Liquid Foundation which is a high performance, long-lasting foundation. So if you know you are going to have a long day where you need high coverage that needs to last all day then this is the one for you! The formula is waterproof and won’t budge – it’s also oil absorbing so if you have oily skin this is quite good because the coverage is matte. There is a lot of pigment in the All Nighter Foundation – 3 times as much as the Naked Skin Liquid Make-up! If you have spots and bumps and uneven skin and really need to cover it all then this is a great foundation to work with. This is currently available in the UK here.

The texture is super-rich, creamy and long-lasting. If you are looking for this kind of foundation you won’t be disappointed!

Something really exciting that Urban Decay has just launched as well is the Naked Skin Color Correcting Fluid. These are seriously da bomb. I have been looking for both of these shades below – green to even out redness (hello, spots!) and the yellow to counteract dullness (hello too many late nights!). These are really, really good.

With the green I applied to uneven areas on my cheeks and onto spots and then with the yellow I applied under the eyes and on the cheekbones. These are easy to apply and blend really well. The pigment is rich and not chalky at all which I have found with some colour correctors. So I will most definitely be adding these guys to my kit!
