My Favourites From Laura Mercier

Say the name Laura Mercier and you know you are talking about good make-up! I have been a long-time fan of Laura Mercier and count the brand as one of my all-time favourites. The quality is great and you know that while you may be paying a bit extra, you will get something good in return.

I wanted to talk about a few of my favourites from Laura Mercier in this post which includes the iconic Foundation Primer. I really like this product because you can use it as a moisturizer or as a primer or both! The primer itself is really hydrating and skin quenching and provides a smooth base for make-up. It is a winner all-around and also
great for travel because it doubles up as a moisturizer as well.

I didn’t know the difference between an okay face powder and a great face powder until I actually discovered it through testing out a wide range of them. I can tell you that the Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder is one of those powder winners. It sets your make-up really well and is best applied dusted all over the face. I tend to have shiny skin so this brushed onto my t-zone means I won’t look like I am literally glowing. Some glow is good but when it’s your whole face sometimes you have to get that under control!

As you may know from reading my posts I LOVE lipstick. It has such a transformative power to the face and there is nothing more transformative than a classic red lipstick. The Laura Mercier Crème Smooth Lip Colour in Portofino Red is as classic as it gets. Imagine wearing this with a glass of rose in hand on the Italian coastline and you will start to get my point. This is also very hydrating and doesn’t dry the lip. While I love a matte lipstick they are drying so I tend to stick to cream lipsticks.

The other Laura Mercier lipsticks I love are the Velour Lovers Lip Colour in Coquette and Indiscretion (love these names). The names of these lipsticks really evoke the feeling of the colour and of wearing the lipsticks. These are velvety smooth in texture and they wear well too. Because no one likes lipstick that wears away quickly and leaves a ring around the mouth (yes been there several times!). Luckily these don’t.
