On the weekends I like to be comfortable. Now that doesn’t mean track suits and PJs all day. That means comfortable chic. With work, events and meetings throughout the week, on the weekends I just like to let my hair down a bit. This feeling of comfort seeps into every area of my weekend life – from the clothes I wear, to my hair and make-up to what I eat. I’m all about looking good with minimal effort you see. I want to look great but not try too hard.
As I mentioned part of that feeling of comfort is through what I wear on the weekends and if there is one thing that we often don’t associate with comfort it’s a bra! Now I have some very nice bras but who doesn’t want to go braless on the weekend or just wear a sports bra instead of a regular bra? Come on, I know you’ve been tempted to forgo a regular bra for a sports bra for the days of the week starting with S.
On the weekends however, I’ve recently discovered a nice in-between solution with the bralette. Bralettes have been a hot trend now for a few months – popping up all over Instagram for their oh-so-pretty style. They are sweet but sexy at the same time and are certainly chic. The main thing that appeals to me about them however is their comfort. These are the gorgeous hybrid between a sports bra and a regular bra keeping the comfort but not forgoing the style or the sexiness.
I’ve found the best bralettes for the weekend (my top 3) that I want to show you in this post. All of them have just launched and are available from Passionata, who make beautiful bras that fit really well and look good too. And trust me, once you’ve been properly fitted and have a bra that fits and feels like a dream, there is no turning back.
So first up is my favourite, the Lulu in Peach Blossom (size shown 32C). I love everything about this bralette. First of all the colour is super flattering on my skin tone. I’ve got pretty fair skin but the peach tones in this bralette really suit me. Second of all I love the whole style of this bralette – it’s got pads in it to keep your shape so you can wear this under form-fitting clothes and not feel like you are being ‘flattened’ in any way. And it’s super, super comfortable with stretchy lace. There are no straps that fall down and the material is really soft too. It also looks amazing and feels very sexy and super feminine without having to sacrifice on comfort. This is a great bra to wear on the weekend when you still want to look good. Five stars!
Next up we have the Crazy Lace in White (size shown 32C). Now there is something very sexy and simple about a white lace bra. I haven’t owned one in the colour white for so long so I couldn’t resist this style as I found it so simple and pretty. And a bralette is even more simple and pretty in white. White means it goes under pretty much anything as well so you cannot go wrong with the colour. Again the thing I like the most about bralettes on the weekend is that you don’t have to worry about straps falling down (my biggest bra pet peeve!) or any pinching (this bra is seamless). I may be laying on the bed with my laptop one minute and the next minute doing yoga stretches on the floor. The Crazy Lace’s biggest advantage is freedom of movement. This is a definite weekend bra because it allows you to do the kind of activity you want without having to worry about discomfort.
My final bra of choice that is great for the weekend is the Dream Passio in Black (size shown 32C). How good is the colour black? It hides all sorts of sins and the colour is flattering on any skin tone. This bralette reminds me most of a sports bra but a very sexy one with its hairnet details. The crossed straps on the back give a lot of support and you always feel lifted in this bra. This bra would be great for larger busted women who may not usually go for a bralette because they fear lack of support. The Dream Passio gives a lot of support so again would support a wide range of activity from stretching on the floor to lying in bed. And here’s a little tip of mine – I always wear a sports bra to bed because I think it helps to reduce any chance of crepe-like lines on the chest that happen when your xxx are squashed together. The Dream Paseo is comfortable enough and with enough support that I feel like I can also wear this to bed.
What kind of bras do you wear on the weekend? Do you wear a regular bra, bralette or sports bra? What are your best bralettes for the weeekend?
