I can’t believe the summer is almost over! As we get ready for another seasonal change it’s all about updating your wardrobe for cooler weather as well as updating your skincare and haircare products. I’ve done a Lookfantastic beauty haul and beauty review here with all my favourite products for the fall season across skincare, make-up and haircare. Read on to see why they are my faves…
Again with the change in weather and all the fashion events coming up in September there has to be a focus on hair styling. While in the summer you can simply let your hair air-dry and then go that is just not the case in cooler weather. We need to think about blow-drying and styling and with that comes the chance of heat damage and breakage. I always use heat protection on my hair and this Pillow Proof Blowdry Primer from Redken makes it super easy to do so. It not only protects but also speeds up drying time. Genius!
It’s windy in the UK! With London Fashion Week coming up in a few weeks it’s time to put together some beauty haul products that will help hair stay in place, no matter what the weather. And we know with the change in seasons that the weather can be so unpredictable. The Redken Control 28 Addict is a high-control hairspray that keeps hair in place even in humid weather. August and September can bring a mix of weather from humid to windy to chilly so if you need hair that stays in place this is a great choice.
“Losing Power.” That’s what I imagine my hair to say to me sometimes during the day – I swear it’s like a wilting flower! Especially because I have fine hair I always have a volume challenge. If you need a bit of a lift then this Redken Rootful Root Lifting Spray is FABULOUS. It also doesn’t leave your hair feeling sticky like some other styling products. I hate that horrible feeling in my hair so this is a perfect volumizing product without feeling the product in your hair!
With the unpredictable weather sometimes you may not need a blow dry if you get lucky and get a hotter day. So if you aren’t doing a blow dry you can use the Redken No Blow Dry Airy Cream (mine is for fine hair but there are versions for other hair types). It controls frizz and flyaways and makes hair ultra-soft. What’s not to love?
I am in LOVE with this Lip Liner. It is smooth and creamy and perfectly defines lips so that they look really natural. I love wearing it by itself for natural, plumped up and defined lips that look sexy without being overly so. A keeper for sure.
I love cheek stains because they make you look so naturally flushed and often people don’t even know you are wearing a blush. The Elizabeth Arden Cool Glow in Coral Daze is a gorgeous gel blush that leaves a lovely flush of colour on the cheeks for that just-pinched look. Great for perking up a complexion during a colder fall day.
My lips love a bit of colour and lipstick is one thing I just can’t get enough of. This Elizabeth Arden Plush Up Lip Gelato in Strawberry Sorbet not only looks amazing (I LOVE the new packaging) but also feels amazing on the lips. It’s moisturizing and not drying at all and it also has a plumping effect which my lips appreciate!
I’ve really gotten into primers lately because I’ve noticed that my pores have gotten bigger over time due to living in an urban environment. I also use primers to blur out fine lines, especially near my eyes and this Pixi Flawless &Poreless Primer is fabulous because it does both. It not only blurs but also minimizes pores by using ingredients that unblock them. Another fab product to add to your beauty list!
I am always looking for a good concealer because I am often tired and my dark circles give away my exhaustion! Seasonal changes also bring a change in body clocks – it starts to get darker earlier and you feel sleepier so if you do need something for dark circles then this Pixi Pat Away Concealing Base is absolutely fab because it leaves a natural finish on the skin. There is nothing I hate more than cakey concealer and the secret to this concealer is the applicator which is designed to simulate a finger so you can seamlessly blend it into the skin. Fabulous product!
My skin always looks brighter and more glowing after an exfoliating treatment. Regular exfoliation helps skin cells turn over faster, creating brighter and more youthful skin. The Pixi Peel & Polish delivers a professional salon treatment at home. I like that you can use this in the morning or night and it contains natural fruit enzymes, sugar extracts and lactic acid to do the dirty work. You simply apply to skin, leave on for 2 minutes and then for extra exfoliation, gently massage into face for 30 seconds and then rinse. Soft and glowy skin in under 5 minutes!
I am in love with the applicator on this product – it allows you to really define your lips. The formula feels lovely as well and not too drying. Lips tend to get dry in the middle of a seasonal change and most definitely when moving towards chillier weather. The colour also lasts a long time and I really like the shade of this liquid matte lipstick – it’s a lovely dusty rose that would suit everyone.
Pixi Glow Tonic – if you haven’t heard of this fab product then where have you been hiding? This is a cult classic exfoliating toner and there’s a reason why it’s so loved. Simply apply it to skin after cleansing and before applying serum or moisturizer. Its key ingredient is 5% Glycolic Acid that helps loosen and get rid of dead skin cells, revealing brighter and smoother skin. A MUST-HAVE for your beauty cabinet and beauty haul.
