Everyone loves a bit of luxe beauty right? It’s all about treating yourself. These days everyone is working hard and playing hard too. Hey, I’m all about saving money but sometimes you have to enjoy your life too and try new things. I’ve put together my top favourite new luxe beauty buys that I’ve been treating myself to this summer.
8 New Luxe Beauty Buys
Taking care of your skin from the outside is just as important as taking care of your skin from the inside. Now I’ve tried a whole range of collagen supplements but none that excited me quite as much as this one. The new Ingenious Beauty Ultimate Collagen + Skincare Supplement is a new and pioneering oral supplement that guarantees to replenish collage and hyaluronic acid in the body. The great thing is that the capsules are 100% natural – therefore increasing the absorption by the body. We lose hyaluronic acid as we get older as well as collagen (both give that plumping effect to the skin). And not only does this super supplement increase your reserves of both of those important things but it also helps reduce UV damage and reduce the negative effects of UVA rays.
These don’t come cheap but with all the studies backing it I’m really keen to get through the bottle. Clinical tests show a reduction in wrinkles and fine lines within 10-20 days. So we are not talking 30-60 days here. This is a supplement with nearly instant gratification – perhaps the one we have all been waiting for!
Now this product got me at ‘lift’ and ‘3D’. I’ve been a bit down about my body lately as I’ve let my health, nutrition and exercise fall to the wayside in favour of overworking myself. It’s taken this bank holiday and getting back into looking after myself to realise that I’ve let certain areas go downhill. Now that’s where the Defilift 3D Body Oil steps in. Now I first need to tell you this doesn’t launch until 10th of September on QVC but it is well worth waiting for. I love body oils and especially ones that target sagging areas like bum, thighs, chest and stomach. Consider this ‘toning in a bottle’. It works by packing a blend of active ingredients that targets problem areas of the body including green tea, Ivy Extract, Vitamin E, Grapeseed Oil, Lotus Extract, etc.
The oil is really rich and luxurious and it feels lovely to rub into the body. The oil works best after body brushing which I really need to get back into. Body brushing is fabulous at increasing circulation and aiding in the flushing of toxins from the skin. It also helps decrease cellulite and makes the skin tone look a lot better.
A really fabulous luxe beauty buy and well worth the wait – I will be using this sparingly as long as I can!
Luxury handbags and luxe fragrances just get me every time. I love discovering new fragrances and I’m especially lured by shiny bottles and packaging to go along with equally amazing scents. Call me a magpie when it comes to fragrances! I’ve been wanting to try an Elizabeth and James fragrance (created by the super cool Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen twins) for a long time, since I saw them in Sephora ages ago.
This one has just recently launched and it’s everything you and your dressing table could want in a fragrance – the bottle is sleek and beautiful and the fragrance equally as appealing with notes of peony, chic muguet and musk. This is the lighter and brighter of the two Nirvana fragrances (I’m going to tell you about the Black one next) but the floral combined with the musk keeps it sophisticated without being too ‘girly’. I don’t like overly ‘girly’ fragrances so this actually floats my boat! It’s sophisticated, clean and minimal – just like the bottle. Think of it as your crisp white shirt in your fragrance wardrobe – i.e. it goes with everything!
Now we move onto the darker of the two Nirvana fragrances – the Nirvana Black Eau de Parfum. This fragrance is deeper than White Nirvana – a floriental if you could describe it with a blend of violet, sensual sandalwood and rich vanilla. It’s sweet but sexy at the same time and certainly a good pick for date night (I’ve written about date night fragrances HERE). I can definitely smell the vanilla coming out of this with a rather powdery smell – it’s rich and intriguing. The bottle again is absolutely stunning and I love that the design is sleek and modern. The fragrance is mysterious and I think it could definitely have people asking you what you are wearing.
I am in love with Marc Jacobs beauty and you can catch my other favourite luxe beauty buys from Marc Jacobs HERE. This is the latest beauty from Marc and it’s the new Eye-Conic Eyeshadow Palette in Edgitorial (you can’t beat the name). Edgy it certainly is with a mix of seven shades and four finishes – velvet, silk, satin and lame. Each of the shadows is really pigmented and is also long-lasting.
Basically the team at Marc Jacobs Beauty don’t do anything half-assed (excuse my language but it’s true). I love that the palette contains wearable shades for everyday and more luxe, eye-popping shades for the night if you want to be a bit more daring. The eyeshadows in each Eye-Conic palette are ‘inspired by textiles and layering’ and I love that Marc has combined beauty and fashion in the ultimate palette. Edgitorial is inspired by camouflage and reflective gold and the shades are absolutely stunning. One for the luxe beauty buys list for sure.
I’m a bit obsessed by Marc Jacobs lipsticks. Honestly they are the best I’ve ever tried. The pigment is so rich and also the shades are incredible. They are honestly worth your money! When people ask me for a good lipstick recommendation I always recommend Le Crème lipsticks and the most recent colour to be launched is Kate – inspired by the icon herself. It’s a beautiful rose colour that lasts and lasts and with such a classic colour choice it’s a perfect handbag hero. I also love that the lipsticks feel creamy and smooth on the lips – they don’t dry them out at all.
I’m a big fan of oils in general for both the body, face and hair and this one by Jo Hansford is the most recently one to land on my beauty desk to test out. The product contains a blend of pomegranate, argan, karanja, jojoba and almond oils and the great thing is that you can use this on all hair types from thick to course to curly to fine. I have been smoothing this onto the ends of my hair after towel-drying and also sometimes on the ends when they are actually dry (as an overnight treatment if I am washing my hair the next day). A super-luxe hair oil that will leave ends nourished and smoothed.
From the makers of Clean Beauty Co. comes Bybi Beauty which landed on my desk a couple of weeks ago. I was instantly impressed by the clean, minimal packaging and the ethos of the brand which is all about transparency in business and also about using quality natural products for glowing skin. I am putting this in my luxe beauty buys section because the product does actually feel quite luxe. It promises glowing skin and I really do think that it helps skin to glow with powerhouse ingredients such as squalane, prickly pear, jasmine and watermelon seed oils. It feels lovely and luxurious and is especially heavenly to warm up in the palms of your hands and massage into the skin at night. Ahh – bliss in a bottle.
