I don’t know about you but my daytime and night-time skincare routines are completely different. During the day I prefer to use serums which tend to sink in quite quickly and at night I love to use a facial oil for treating the skin. During the day our skin is exposed to free-radicals and is in fight mode so we need a good serum that is going to be able to fight pollution and free radicals. At night it’s all about rest and repair so a good treatment in the form of a facial oil is good to use while your skin is regenerating and repairing from the day’s stresses. Here are some of the products I’ve been using in my day and night skincare routine from best facial oils to serums. Read on!
Facial Oils for Night-time Skincare Routine
I love a good facial oil and like to massage them into my skin in the evening for a radiant glow. One great one that I’ve discovered recently is the Manuka Doctor Facial Oil with 24K Gold and Manuka Honey (a skincare favourite of Kourtney Kardashian). This is a luxe facial oil without the price tag that contains precious plant oils along with the aforementioned 24K Gold and Manuka Honey. Manuka Honey is actually great on the skin – it’s antibacterial and is good for acne-prone skin. Plant oils include Cranberry, Baobab and Marula – all deeply nourishing. A real golden gem if you are looking for a facial oil!
Now this is a facial oil that was made for the skin while you sleep and works on repairing the damage that was done during the day when your skin was exposed to the elements. Now I LOVE this oil and it’s a fabulous facial oil to add into your night-time skincare routine. This oil is also 100% natural with essential oils and vitamins that naturally detoxes the skin by shooing out toxins. This is a great oil if you want glowing skin and it’s lovely if massaged into the face at the end of a tiring day.
If you are after that glow then look no further. The Tan Luxe Sleep Oil is an oil that is meant to be used as you sleep but is also an overnight tanning oil that not only gives you a glowing bronzed glow but also is really hydrating to the skin. If you feel that your skin is looking dull and dehydrated then this is an AMAZING oil to use at night!
Serums for Daytime Skincare Routine
Serum is the most important part of a skincare routine, after cleansing of course. Serum reaches deep into the skin layers where a moisturiser can’t go because of its molecular structure. This Vital C Hydrating Anti-Aging Serum from Image Skincare is a hydrating serum that uses oil-soluble Vitamin C to penetrate deep into the layers of the skin for a hydration boost. Stress, fatigue, dull or dehydrated all sound like familiar words when describing your skin? This one works on ALL of them. I love the formula because it literally smells like oranges and sunshine and it also sinks in easily too. My skin didn’t break out or get irritated from using it either so would be suitable for all skin types.
If you have dehydrated skin then this serum is like a good long drink for thirsty skin! I love a serum that plumps up the skin and this is one of my new favourites. It’s simple but effective and also contains hyaluronic acid to complete the plumping effect. Skin loses volume as we age so if you are concerned about dehydrated skin or volume loss then this is a great serum to try!
This is an amazing multi-tasker of a product that corrects, hydrates and brightens. You can also use it on the eye contour and the neck too! As I’ve aged, I’ve noticed more uneven skin tone and hyperpigmentation which is a real bummer – that crystal-clear skin of my youth is gone! This serum actually tackles age spots, acne marks and sun spots and I’ve noticed that it has really made a difference on my skin. This is a good product to use in the summer as well due to the fact that exposure to the sun usually makes these spots and uneven pigmentation more prominent. So if you do have dark spots or uneven skin tone then this serum is amazing at correcting and it’s also hydrating at the same time.
