More and more I’m getting into natural skincare and cleansing is such a big part of a beauty routine. If you don’t get all of your make-up and grime off of your face at the end of the day it’s not going to matter what expensive product you put onto your skin. Cleansing is so very important. These days I love a cleanser that is both gentle but also removes all the dirt and grime. Here are my current faves – five of the best natural cleansers!
Samaya is an Ayurvedic skincare brand that I have talked about previously HERE. The skincare from this brand is prescribed according to your dosha – essential your physical constitution – which you can find from their website if you fill in a questionnaire that asks questions about your lifestyle. After doing such questionnaire I found out I was a Kapha. The main dosha types are Kapha, Vata or Pitta. It’s really interesting once you start learning about your constitution and the Kapha type suits me perfectly. Therefore I find this an interesting concept when it comes to skincare.
The Kapha Hydrating Cleanser is great because the key word is hydrating. My skin is often dehydrated so I do look for hydrating products when it comes to skincare. The Kapha Hydrating Cleanser has Ayurvedic botanicals such as Ashwagandha, Sandalwood, Vetivert and Frankincense and it smells amazing. I like to use this in the morning on my face, massaging it in until it melts into the skin – the texture is like a cleansing lotion. Then once you rinse it off your skin feels lovely and soft – ready for the day! My favourite ingredient in the Kapha Cleanser is Frankincense Oil which is a purifying oil that also can relieve stress and fatigue – a mindful beauty product indeed.
I love the texture of this cleanser which is from French natural skincare brand Sanoflore. The texture is a gelée which is like an oily gel hybrid (that’s the best way I can describe it) and it feels INCREDIBLE on the skin. You simply need to massage it into the skin where it then transforms into an oil. You then add water and it turns into a milk so it’s really easy to rinse off. It removes all traces of make-up, dirt and pollution naturally and it smells amazing too with Organic Cornflower Hydrosol from the south of France and nourishing noble Helianthus oil. A truly joyous cleanser if I may say so myself.
Another interesting cleanser on the list is from Alex Carro, a natural skincare brand from Barcelona whose products are also unisex. This is an interesting one because all of the products in the capsule range (there are 5) can be mixed and matched with each other – i.e. add the oil and the cleanser becomes a mask – to create an additional five products. According to the product you can mix these yourself by hand to create additional products – pretty cool right? I’ve got the 2/5 Cleanser which is a 3-in-1 cleanser for all skin types. I love using this in the morning because the texture starts as a gel which upon massaging into the skin becomes an oil and then turns into a milk upon contact with water. It’s lovely and luxurious – a perfect way to start the day.
Another really great cleanser that is also easy on the pocketbook is the Botanics Hydration Burst Dual Action Cleanser. I love a cleanser that transforms into another texture upon contact with water and this one turns from a gel to a milk. It removes make-up and grime really well but also leaves skin feeling soft and smooth at the same time.
I absolutely love this face wash firstly because its formula is a gel wash which feels really lovely on the skin and secondly because this face wash is under a fiver and it’s made with 95% natural ingredients. And we all know how good green tea is for you as well – removing excess sebum, impurities and pollution from the skin. A real winner of a product and a bargain too!
