Mother’s Day is back again and with it I always do a Mother’s Day gift guide. My mum is pretty easy to shop for – generally she likes the same things as me. Okay maybe not in terms of fashion but in other areas she appreciates the nicer things as much as I do. Mother’s Day is a commercial holiday yes but I always think that if it takes a commercial holiday to say I love you and appreciate you so be it! I’ve picked up some lovely gifts from Debenhams this Mother’s Day across home, beauty and fashion for my mum. So, if you are looking for a little bit of gift inspiration I’ve tried to pick across a wide variety of categories. So, let’s start with beauty, shall we?
First up is Tiffany & Co Eau de Parfum – I fell in love instantly with the crystal bottle that resembles a Tiffany diamond cut. This is the ultimate treat for a mum on Mother’s Day and the fragrance is a crowd-pleaser which means you can’t go wrong with it as a gift. It’s bright and citrusy and smells refreshing and uplifting at the same time. It’s also very feminine whilst not being overly floral. The iris heart becomes lighter with the addition of the vert de mandarin top notes and then the fragrance ultimately dries down with the gentle warmth of patchouli.
I know that I live in robes, especially in the winter and think of them as what my Grandmother used to call them which is a ‘house coat.’ It’s chilly in the winter and there is nothing nicer than being able to wrap yourself in a nice robe. I’ve added the J by Jasper Conran Grey Island Fleece Dressing Gown to my Mother’s Day Gift Guide simply because I think that everyone needs a luxurious robe while the weather’s still cold and this makes the perfect gift for mum. In regards to robes I think it’s always good to have one warm and cosy robe for the winter (like the J by Jasper Conran one mentioned earlier) and a lighter satin or silk one for the summer months (and just to feel pretty, actually). They’re fun and playful and the material feels soft and luxurious on the skin. I like that these are long-sleeve on the top so they are perfect for Spring, which is just around the corner!
For a Mother’s Day gift for the home I love the Star by Julien Macdonald White Rose Cushion. This would go perfectly on a bed or a lounge chair and adds the perfect feminine but elegant touch to any room. It’s super comfy as well and makes a perfect pillow for a nap on the couch too!
