I recently spent the weekend in Manchester with Lookfantastic for the Lookfantastic Premiere learning all about what is coming out for….Christmas! Yes, Christmas is nearly upon us. I literally nearly shed tears thinking about how fast this year has gone by…but alas it’s here again. But first let’s give a little love for Manchester! I have spent plenty of time in Northern England and Scotland, exploring the cities and the landscapes but this is the first time that I’d spent more than 1 day in Manchester – 3 days to be exact. So if you want to know more about things to do in Manchester, read on!
Lookfantastic were kind enough to put us up at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Manchester which is a really lovely 5-star hotel with a spa. The hotel is conveniently located near the city centre and if you are visiting Manchester and looking for a hotel to stay in then this hotel would be a great choice. My room was quite spacious and I loved the marble detailing in the bathrooms as well – perfect for that Instagram shot!
I also liked the fact that the hotel has a spa – Sienna Spa – where you can get massages, facials or just spend some time in the steam room and sauna like I did to relax and unwind between activities. Also, I have to give a shout out to the breakfast at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Manchester which was really lovely with a spread to meet all tastes and preferences including mine which is the smoked salmon, avocado, almond latte and green juice kind of taste.
When I arrived to my room Lookfantastic had kindly left a gorgeous hamper on the bed filled with goodies from Frank Body, Grow Gorgeous and Eyeko, among others – perfect products to use for the next 3 days of pampering.
The first day was all about settling in so I was able to relax in the sauna at the hotel and then get ready for a lovely 3-course dinner at the hotel. With the train travel from London, the delicious food and the day of activity I was straight to bed that night!
For the day of the actual Lookfantastic Premiere we headed to The Monastery Manchester which is a fabulous events space within a monastery. There were around 40 brands showcasing Christmas including some of my faves like Kerastase, Crabtree & Evelyn, Burberry and Benefit. I was able to browse the stands to see what was on offer in terms of new products or Christmas exclusives as well as attend a wide range of masterclasses. My favourite masterclass was the Future Is Female that had a panel discussion with the female founders of Omorovicza, Balance Me, Vita Liberata and Pestle & Mortar.
The day was busy but I left with lots of goodies and then it was time to head back to the Radisson Blu Edwardian Manchester to get ready for an amazing evening including dinner and a show at The Monastery Manchester.
The Monastery Manchester is an amazing venue for events in Manchester if you are looking for such a venue. We returned that evening for dinner, a show with contortionists and stilt walkers as well as music.
On our last day in Manchester we headed to the Grand Pacific for brunch, which is an absolutely stunning bar and restaurant in Manchester that is a MUST VISIT if you are in Manchester because it’s such an Instagrammable spot. The interiors are divine with high ceilings and palm prints everywhere. The brunch was hosted by Apivita, a brand I love so it was a lovely morning well spent learning about some of the products as well as sampling the high tea menu.
If you have any other recommendations for Manchester please let me know – I may be back soon! Or if you are keen to see what else I’ve got from Lookfantastic you can read a previous post here.
