Sometimes you are just itching to buy something new but it’s not quite pay day yet. Or you want to buy something but don’t want to go overboard, just enough to satisfy your retail craving. There are plenty of GOOD beauty products out there that also won’t break the bank!
I love going to Superdrug to pick up any extra goodies that I feel I need well…just because! They always have a fantastic array of beauty products on hand and the brands stocked there are all at very reasonable prices. I also am alerted to all their offers and sales because I registered for their Beautycard in-store. This allows you to collect points for every spend (100 points = £1 for you to spend) and their emails with all the latest offers come through to me the moment they are live in store. One of my favourite beauty brands that I like to stock up on during a beauty haul at Superdrug is B. – this is a cruelty-free, vegan brand that has all the ethos of an ethical brand without the price tag. The products are really good quality! This spring, on 8th April, they are launching a very bright and pretty range called B. Sweet.
I was lucky enough to be able to try the products out before they hit stores. One of my favourites from the collection is the B. Popping Candy Highlighting Serum. This is an adorably packaged product that contains pearls of illumination that are encased in a lightweight serum. I mixed mine with my foundation and this works great as an illuminating base as well to give you that fresh spring glow.
Other favourites in the collection are the B. Whipped Blush. This is seriously the softest blush I have ever touched and I am a huge fan of cream blushes now. The colour on this blush is Peach and gives a lovely flush of colour – it works great with a wide variety of skin tones as well. To top the look off you can use B. Lipstick in Orange Boom. I love the colour orange this season and I want it on my eyelids, lips and cheeks (within reason of course). This coral orange pop of colour is perfect for summer – I am thinking cocktails at the beach? Anyone?
B. has also just launched a make-up brush collection. If you are like me, you can never have enough make-up brushes. I’m just not sure why but you can never seem to have enough! I have the B. Travel-Sized Make-up Brush Collection which I am very excited to take with me on a summer trip this year. The bristles are super soft, vegan and have a serious professional edge to them. The travel-sized collection comes with a powder brush, foundation brush, eye shadow brush and lip brush.
Another brand that I have just discovered that is amazing for a beauty splurge is I Love. These products smell amazing and the great thing about them is that they are soap-free, paraben-free and are pH balanced! The products smell so good that I seriously have to stop myself from consuming a load of sweets every time I use them.
One of my favourites is the I Love Perfectly Peachy Bath and Shower Crème – this smells like a fresh peach smoothie. This is new for 2015 and the brand has also partnered with charity Coppa Feel – there are instructions on the back of the bottle that inform you on the signs and symptoms of breast cancer. Genius!
The other new products for 2015 smell just as amazing with I Love Honey & Almond Nourishing Shower Crème, I Love Coconut & Cream Nourishing Body Butter (a burst of sweet coconut and velvety cream) and I Love Mango & Papaya Indulgent Hand Wash (juicy mango and succulent papaya – this has a serious yum factor). Everything in this range is priced from £2.99 and under – making it a true beauty splurge that won’t break the bank.
Last but not least we must always think about our teeth. I love to have white sparkling teeth but my teeth are also sometimes sensitive. Getting teeth whitened professionally is also very expensive so why not try it at home if you don’t want to spend the money? I have found in the past that using whitening strips makes my teeth even more sensitive so I am happy to say that Sensodyne has just launched a whitening toothpaste called True White for sensitive teeth. The toothpaste is very low abrasion so it is very gentle to sensitive teeth and has been shown in studies to be as gentle as water!
And last but not least on my Superdrug hauls I always pick up vitamins. As they say, to look good on the outside we must take care of the inside! They have a great and affordable Superdrug’s own range that are high strength and reasonably priced. I picked up mine on a 3 for 2 offer. Always a win!
