Breaking Beauty News: bareMinerals Blemish Remedy + New Brushes Launching in September!

I love bareMinerals products. I’ve always been a huge fan of their brushes (hello says the one who uses the Full Flawless Face Brush every day for just about everything), high-pigmented eyeshadows and super shiny Marvellous Moxie lipglosses. For a natural brand, they really do kick ass (excuse my French)! Their High Shine Eyecolor mascaras rival the highly pigmented NARS eyeshadows. They are fabulous.

So when I heard that bareMinerals was launching a NEW foundation in September I simply had to test it out for myself. I was really happy to hear that this was particularly a ‘blemish remedy’ foundation because I am spot-prone. My spots come out when I’m under stress, from environmental factors or change in diet/weather. The thing about this particular mineral powder foundation is that it not only minimizes the look of blemishes but also promotes blemish-free skin.

So how does it do that? Well, the powder contains tea tree oil, a known antiseptic and natural antibacterial oil that is great for targeting spots. It also contains Aspen bark and aloe to help soothe and hydrate. It won’t clog your pores or irritate existing spots – yay! It also decreases sebum output and pore size.

I usually go for liquid BB creams but I do like how natural this Blemish Remedy foundation makes your skin look – you can build up the coverage as well for areas that need it. It’s great for the ‘no make-up’ make-up look. This is something that I will be using on the weekends from now on if I want light coverage but again you can build it up to use during the work week as well.

The application process of this Blemish Remedy foundation is also slightly different, in that it has a mesh filter (see above picture) on which you can then dip the bristles of your make-up brush into and swirl, tap away the excess and the buff onto the skin in a circular motion.

I’ve buffed mine into the top of my hand – you can barely see and that’s exactly the way it should be! It looks like nothing is on my hand yet you see no imperfections and the skin looks smooth and any imperfections are concealed. This is a truly a lovely mineral foundation!

bareMinerals are also launching several gorgeous new brushes. As I said, I am a religious user of the bareMinerals brushes already – they last ages, are great quality and are reasonably priced for a good brush.

So what’s new in the world of brushes?

Well, we have the Blooming Blush Brush which is as you guessed, great for putting on blusher or bronzer.

It has an angled head so that makes the application process much more controlled. Hello, contoured and sculpted face – this is your new hero.

The next NEW brush is the Complexion Perfector. This is great for applying foundations or concealers – essentially it is a foundation brush and is great for blending, like a paintbrush.

The next NEW brush that bareMinerals is bringing out is the Seamless Shaping & Finish Brush. This brush has natural fibres for a more sheer application – great for blending finishing powders, bronzers and illuminators that require a lighter touch.

The slightly pointed end of the brush is great for hard to reach areas like around the eyes and nose.

And last but not least the other NEW brush I want to tell you about is the Supreme Finisher (love this name!). This is a large brush with synthetic fibres for sheer application and blending of finishing powders, luminizers and bronzers. It’s larger than the Seamless Shaping & Finish Brush and is good for an all-over application, while the Seamless Shaping & Finish brush is great for blending hard to reach areas on the face.

All of the brushes I’ve spoken about are below £30 and will last you forever. Honestly!
