November Beauty Favourites!

I can’t believe it’s November! Fall has well and truly arrived and we are already counting down the days until Christmas – yikes! I’ve opened up my handbag this month to show you a peek of what’s inside. Here are a few of my November beauty favourites!

Real Techniques Collector’s Edition Eyelining Set

Real Techniques Brush Set 2

I love Real Techniques brushes and would recommend them to anyone. For the price and the quality that you get in return you really can’t beat them! This is a set that’s especially for the eyes and is a NEW Collector’s Edition. I like that the brushes are a metallic purple and the brushes are super soft. It also comes with a pouch to keep them all together. The brushes included will give you every kind of eye look you could want.

Precision liner brush – this brush is great for the perfect cat eye flick and gives you a lot of control to make the perfect line.

Real Techniques Brush Set for Eyes

Smudge brush – this is your best friend for creating a smoky eye and I found it was quite good at blending on the crease of the eye as well. A good all-around brush for the eye for sure!

Real Techniques Smudge Brush

Eyeliner brush – this is angled so again I would use this to run over my pencil eyeliner to wing it out. Great for precision and control along the lash line.

Real Techniques Eye Brow Brush

Pointed liner brush – this has a flat, tapered head which I find is great for using with gel eyeliner to create the most perfect line ever!

Real Techniques Eye Brush

Freedom Eyebrow Pomade

Freedom Eyebrow Set

This brow pomade is honestly the BEST eyebrow product I have ever used. Freedom is a new professional make-up brand by the people who brought us Make-up Revolution. Honestly, this is a dupe of Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Dip and it is a really good one at that! A little goes a long way and I use this with an angled eye brush to fill in my brows with precision. The formula lasts all day and it looks incredibly natural. If you haven’t tried a brow dip, this is a good place to start and it’s a fiver!

Petit Fracas Eau de Parfum by Robert Piquet

Robert Piguet Petit Fracas

I received this fragrance from House of Fraser and although I love fragrance, I hadn’t actually heard of this brand but it has quickly become one of my favourites. This is a floriental and it’s feminine yet edgy – an incredibly unique scent. The top notes are of fresh citrus and pear and at the heart of the scent is a foral with a vintage edge: tuberose and white flowers. And then with the base comes a surprising twist where you see this fragrance really carve out a mark of its own. Musk, sandalwood and a touch of chocolate round this out in the end and make it truly a unique scent.

Flutter Lip Balms

Flutter Lip Glosses

These Flutter Lip Balms from Superdrug are so cute – just looking at them makes me happy! They are tinted and are perfect for a touch up on top of an existing lipstick or for a sheer wash of colour on their own.

Too Faced Love Palette

This Too Faced Love Palette is just divine. It’s so pretty that you hesitate to actually use it! This one features 15 shadows and the great thing about it is that the shadows come in different textures such as shimmer, pearl and matte so you can create all different kinds of looks. The Love Palette also has innovative ‘slurry powder technology’ that creates velvety smooth pigments. The colour goes on beautifully and also lasts a long time. It’s no wonder people rave about this brand. It also contains a full-size Perfect Eyes Eye Liner to top off a smoky eye!

Eve Snow Nail Polish (Blondie, Racey)

This is the first time I have ever tried Eve Snow and I really like these colours – especially ‘Racey’ as it is perfect for fall. The deep berry shade will go with any skin tone and look great paired with a cosy sweater! The colour in ‘Blondie’ I will be saving for summer! The nail lacquers are vegan-friendly, cruelty-free and both of these polishes contain a 3-added formula with Argan Oil, Gingko Biloba Leaf Extract and Vitamin E that disguises nail imperfections, broken nail bed, sun damage, nail blemishes and discolouration.

St Tropez Self Tan Luxe Facial Oil

San Tropez Luxe Facial Oil

San Tropez Luxe Facial Oil Review

The tan is fading and what do you do? Well, to avoid looking like a ghost this winter I have discovered the St Tropez Self Tan Luxe Facial Oil. You can use it at night and wake up with a natural looking tan that lasts for up to 5 days. I found this oil to be really lightweight and non-greasy. It sank in quickly and had a nice smell as well. Good for a quick fix or if you have an event that you want to look amazing for!

Les Couvent Des Minimes Rose & Berries Lip Balm

Lip Favourites

This is a lovely and light lip balm that smells and tastes as good as it sounds. Inspired by the Sisters’ benevolent works, that so often brought a smile back to the faces of Convent residents, the Smile Lip Balm Rose & Berries Aroma helps to nourish and repair lips on a daily basis.

It contains softening Marshmallow with nourishing Shea butter and protective Apricot oil and feels very nourishing to lips. I love the packaging of this as well – brilliant!

Jean Paul Gaultier Classique Eau de Parfum Intense

Gaultier Perfume

Gaultier Perfume Review

Oh I LOVE this fragrance! It lasts for ages and comes in a beautiful and fun bottle in the shape of a glamourous woman. I think this fragrance is particularly suitable for fall as well or for a night out – it’s seductive but charming at the same time and the staying power is quite simply amazing.

The new composition is described as ,a vivacious, intensive, oriental and solar, containing notes of tiare, pomegranate and gourmand accords at the top, with the heart of orange blossom, rose and jasmine and the base of patchouli and vanilla.’ I think I’ve found that I really like fragrances with a touch of patchouli for an added spiciness.

Esqido Mink Lashes

I used these for London Fashion Week and they were lovely. They added just enough drama to my eyes to make them really pop. They were easy to apply and stayed in place throughout the day and night. And good news – you can kiss your mascara goodbye with these!

Pure Sensitive Micellar Facial Wipes

B Pure Micellar Cleansing wipes

I like to take off my make-up as soon as I get home from work and these Superdrug B. Quick Micellar Water Facial Wipes make it incredibly easy to do so! They even remove waterproof mascara! Despite dissolving make-up they are really gentle on the skin. Great for travel too!

Vince Camuto Amore Eau de Parfum

This is a gorgeous feminine scent that looks amazing on your dressing table. This would be a perfect gift for Christmas! Amore embodies the fun and flirty expression of a woman falling unforgettably, deeply in love. The fragrance contains Blush Orchids, Fresh Freesia and Floating Lotus making it a truly fresh and feminine scent,  Spray it in the morning to start your day out right – it’s great for waking up the senses!

Vince Camuto Men’s Eau de Toilette

I love a good men’s cologne and this Vince Camuto one is spot on. It’s woody and bold with the brilliant citrus of Italian Bergamot, sparkling Mandarin and zesty Black Pepper. This is a very complex fragrance with the addition of lavender, nutmeg and leather. I can really smell the leather scent coming out of this. Precious woods, vetiver and patchouli finish round it off. A clear winner for the man in your life. You may just steal it from him!

Topshop Matte Lips in Black Widow, Head Rush, Sashay Away and Inhibition

Oh I LOVE these lipsticks. I hadn’t tried a Topshop lipstick before and I have to say my favourite colour of these four is vampy Black Widow. I have gotten so many compliments on this lipstick. Topshop actually have some amazing lip colours. Although these are matte you can always add some gloss to give your lips some mega shine!

Mary Kay at Play Baked Eyeshadow Trio in Purple Eclipse

Mary Kay at Play Eyeshadow

Mary Kay at Play

These three colours together make a perfect smoky eye! You just need the Real Techniques brushes I mentioned above to smudge your way there and these three eyeshadows work together and are already perfectly matched to go together. If you are after simplicity then go for one of these as it takes the ‘thinking’ out of it! The colour is buildable and I found it was long-lasting as well. The colours work well together using the base of the baby pink, deep purple in the crease and black to line the eyes!

Mary Kay at Play Jelly Lip Gloss

Mary Kay at Play Lip Gloss

I didn’t realise that Mary Kay made lip glosses! And who doesn’t need a lip gloss? This has a jelly-like texture that is great on its own or over lipstick to give it a glossy shine. I like to layer mine over a matte lipstick if I suddenly have a change of heart and don’t want to wear a matte lipstick anymore!

Mary Kay at Play Lip & Cheek Stain

Mary Kay at Play Cheek Tint

Mary Kay at Play Lip and Cheek Tint

Mary Kay at Play Lip and Cheek Tint 2

This Lip & Cheek stain is great for travel or on-the-go make-up due to its multitasking abilities! The colour is buildable or on the other hand can be a subtle as you want! What I liked about the formula of this is that it is really creamy and melts into the skin.

Dermalogica Overnight Retinol Repair

Dermalogica Overnight Retinol Repair

Dermalogica Buffer Cream

Dermalogica is one of my favourite brands and they don’t mess around with their products. I rate them highly so was thrilled to get to try the NEW Overnight Retinol Repair. This literally changes skin overnight. It contains active microencapsulated pure Retinol which is a superhero in the fight against ageing – it helps increase collagen production and cell turnover.  Not only is there Retinol but there are two sidekicks that join it –  peptides and antioxidant Vitamin C. These work on uneven skin tone and discolouration. I really noticed a skin brightening effect after using this. Just be sure to use the buffer cream to help skin acclimate to this highly-active form of Retinol because you don’t want to use too much at once which might irritate the skin. Remember, slow and steady wins the race here! A definite skincare hero.

Nerium Anti-Ageing Night Cream

Nerium is a brand I hadn’t heard of until I was introduced to it by my friend Nakisha, who is a consultant from the States. So what makes Nerium unique? The addition of an exclusive, patented NAE-8® extract which is a powerful antioxidant and works at night to repair damage inflicted by free radicals attacking your skin during the day. This is a great product to use if you live in a polluted city as the key emphasis is on antioxidants, free-radical damage control and reducing inflammation.

The application is also interesting as this has to be applied to damp skin so the product will adhere to the skin effectively. This product targets everything under the sun in relation to ageing but the main thing I could notice was a tightening of the skin. My skin looked more taut so this is a great product for those concerned with volume loss or sagging skin. I also noticed a skin brightening effect – especially on pigmented areas on my cheeks.
