We all want a year of more don’t we? A year where everything is just a little bit brighter and better than before? Well, Glossybox has started off 2016 with its January box, ‘The Year of MORE’. I really like the idea of this theme because you can choose what more you want in the new year. More ‘me time’, more self-care, more indulgence. My year of more would be more self-care. I am usually running myself into the ground so want to spend more of 2016 enjoying the little things; fresh flowers, cooking, watching movies, reading books…relaxing!
A year of more can also relate back to self-care which is the angle I think Glossybox is going for with this box. So what’s inside? Let’s find out!
This month’s box, being the ‘Year of More’ – is indeed very generous! There are four full-size products in this month’s box and I’ve got a few of my favourites picked out already.
The products in this month’s box are also very diverse. First off we have the Madara Cellular Repair Serum which is from Madara and contains the trendy ingredient of birch juice (think birch water, etc.) and aims to plump skin and boost hydration. This is a great product for winter (and it’s organic)!
Second up is for the hands. I LOVE this Naobay Organic Orange Juice Hand Cream. First off, I love the name of the product – Orange Juice! That instantly gets me in a good mood and second, the smell of this actually smells of orange juice which makes sense as the product is from Valencia, Spain. The packaging is beautiful and the size of this is very generous. And it’s really important to keep your hands hydrated in the winter – make sure to take care of them the same way you take care of your face!
Next up is Unani Dermo Defence Face Mask. I have never heard of Unani before but this again is a very generous, full-sized product. This is an intense hydration mask meant to be used once a week. But if your skin is really dry I would use this one every single night before bed (hey, this is the year of more after all).
And this month I was very surprised to see a Glossybox eyeshadow – their first ever beauty product! The colour is Glossy Mauve and the shadow is a satin shadow that can be worn wet or dry depending on how intense you want the colour. Really great blended into the crease of the eye!
Last but not least is a really cutely packaged lipstick by Teez Cosmetics, another brand that I had not heard from. This lipstick reminds me of the new Clarins Etat Rouge lipsticks with the same kind of satin finish and the pop of rose will suit any skin tone.
