Statement Boots: Do You Need Them?

I didn’t realise until recently that I needed a pair of statement boots. People throw around the word ‘statement heels’ a lot but I don’t often hear a similar descriptive when it comes to boots. So when I had the opportunity to collaborate with Blush London and Kurt Geiger on their boot range, I didn’t hesitate!

I love boots and I have several pairs of heeled black boots, brown Chelsea boots and over-the-knee boots all of which get me through the everyday and go with everything. That’s why I felt that when it came to Kurt Geiger I had to go with the Sphynx boots, (now £69.00, worth £170). I wanted boots that you don’t add as an afterthought to your outfit, but ones that become the outfit. Statement boots, if you will. And these are certainly boots that you build an entire outfit around.

I would also like to add that I run around London a lot and don’t like to be in uncomfortable shoes – on that these boots are really comfortable! Honestly I wouldn’t have chosen them if they weren’t.

I’ve paired my Sphynx boots with a pair of boyfriend jeans from Pull & Bear, a white t-shirt I picked up at the market in South Korea and a faux leather jacket from H&M. For accessories I’ve turned a Swarovski bracelet into a 90s-style choker and added a gorgeous handmade leather Barney & Taylor cross-body bag.

I am really loving the 90s vibe at the moment so I’m all about leather jackets and chokers! These boots also go well with all black so that they stand out; black skinny jeans with a black sweater, long black t-shirt dress with a choker – you get the idea. So do you need a statement pair of boots? I would say a big fat YES! I didn’t think I needed them but once I had them I realised what had been missing all along…
