It’s officially summer (on June 20th) and with a change in seasons I always update everything from my wardrobe to my make-up! Festival season is also nearly upon us and with that you need summer make-up with some serious staying power. However, in order to get that make-up to stay put it needs to be applied correctly. And to apply it correctly you need the right make-up tools!
These days I really love EcoTools for good brushes at a really good price. Good brushes can transform your entire look and make everything appear seamless. Less expensive make-up can also suddenly look more expensive and stays put for longer simply because it is applied better. I am loving the EcoTools 6 Piece Bamboo Set (below) right now.
The set comes with six brushes and the bristles are so soft. I really like this brand because it’s cruelty-free and the brushes are made from both natural and recycled material so they are kind to the earth. They also don’t cost a fortune so it makes it even better!
From left to right below we have the Concealer Brush, the Eye Shading Brush, the Eyeliner Brush and the Blush Brush.
I love the Blush Brush (below left) because it is so soft and the brush is really large enough to be multi-purpose so if you want to use this for powder you can.
The Eyebrow Grooming Brush below is also very useful for keeping brows tidy. I use the brush side (bottom) to push my eyebrows up and then fill them in – this way I get a more lifted look.
EcoTools also makes a really good 5-brush set called The Lovely Looks Set. This one contains (from left to right below) the Lip Brush, Flat Eyeliner Brush, Shadow Brush, Foundation Brush and Powder/Blush Brush. Between these two sets described in this post you should have most of your brush needs covered!
Once you have the right eyeshadow brush you need the right eyeshadow. I am loving The Balm Nude ‘Tude Palette (below – available from Debenhams). It has 12 shades that cover your every need for every kind of look that you want to create. The palette comes with an eyeshadow primer as well which will help the eyeshadow from not creasing and smearing so this is definitely great for festival season!
You can also use a brush to apply lipstick and in this case it is the Illamasqua bright pink lipstick (below – available from Debenhams). For festival season, bright pink is in! The bolder the better, I say.
And last but not least for festival season you need some good nail art! Elegant Touch has launched their NEW Stylist range which includes amazing pre-glued nail gems and nail art stickers in a range of designs. It has never been easier to turn a normal mani into an amazing one! These are good for the time-poor because you can just stick them on in a second.
I’ve tried the Classic Pearl Nail Gems below on my shellac mani. The nail art is also a good way to dress up a shellac mani if you get tired of having the same colour on your nails for weeks (because they last forever).
Elegant Touch also has an amazing Stylist Nail Art Kit that allows you to become your very own nail artist and create your own looks – it’s brilliant!
