I don’t know about you but my hair has become drier lately with the change in seasons. The indoor heating has been switched on and my hair has suffered for it. Also I’ve noticed that the water in London is really hard so it’s very drying for skin and hair. I am seriously considering getting some sort of water softener contraption to put on the shower – I think it would make a big difference. I’ve also been feeling lazier lately and just want to stay inside so I’ve had to think about how I can treat my hair without leaving the house! Here’s my top 5 list of products that I’ve been using lately to help get the life back into my hair and bring the hair salon home.
I really love this new range by Umberto Giannini. The packaging is really luxe (black and gold – love it) and the products in the range have been created for a wide range of hair solutions.
My two favourite products in the range are the Glam Primer and the Glam Boost. The Glam Primer is perfect because it protects against heat styling which is fantastic. I even like to use this on its own to freshen up my beach waves. It also helps battle frizz – bonus!
The next product which I really like is the Glam Boost. My hair tends to go flat at the roots so if you are fine-haired like me then I find this is a really great product to add some extra oomph to your hair. It’s also good if you want to create texture. And as the textured bob is so in right now, it’s a fab product to add to your arsenal of volumising products. It’s got a jelly-like texture which is really interesting as well. The amazing thing is that this is also a heat protector so you can use it before blow-drying. Multi-tasker!
I really love this duo for hair and have been using it since I was a teen. My parents used to buy this brand and I always remember using it and thinking that my hair was going to magically grow longer by using it. I think the pictures of the horses on the cover helped. Well it turns out that it does help to create a fuller look so I wasn’t so far off in my thinking. And guess what makes it even better? It can be used on horses and humans so it’s really a horse shampoo/conditioner as well but it’s not tested on animals. The Mane N’ Tail Shampoo is great for fine hair as well as it’s quite lightweight and the Mane N’ Tail Conditioner contains a protein-rich formula to help repair dried or damaged strands. Perfect for the colder and dryer season!
As I mentioned before my hair tends to get a bit more dull in the darker months due to indoor heating and hard water. I’ve recently discovered an at-home treatment with eSalon alled Glass Act Shine Glaze. What this basically does is the equivalent to giving your car a fresh wax. A shine enhancement! This is a great treatment to do before the holidays, Christmas parties and festive season hits so you can rock the shiniest of hair. Each tube has two treatments and the formula has a Marine extract that smoothes the cuticles – no salon needed.
I love hair masks/masques – I use them to revive my hair if it feels on the dry side as well as if I have recently used too many styling products. This Manuka Doctor Restorative Mask is really lovely – especially for fine hair. It didn’t leave my hair greasy and oily afterwards like some masks do. The fomula contains Manuka Honey, Manuka Oil and Abyssinian Oil to soften and smooth. See who needs to go to a salon when you can pamper yourself at home? Besides it’s too cold outside.
I’ve been using 7th Heaven masks forever and ever – since I was a teenager. Face masks or hair masks – you name it and I’ve used it. A hair mask that I’ve recently tried is the 7th Heaven Argan Oil Restorative Mask. This comes in an easy to use packet that you can take on the go with you (great for travel) and contains vitamin rich Argan Oil and Panthenol help promote the growth and healthy and strong hair. I like that it comes in a packet that you can toss in your bag for a weekend away.
