The festive season is well and truly here and now with all my gift guides up on the blog I feel like I can breathe a sigh of relief and really indulge in all things Christmas. I was so delighted to receive this month’s Glossybox from my friends at Glossybox along with a lovely Christmas wreath from Wild Renata Flowers as a surprise. It totally set me in a festive mood and the wreath is now proudly hanging on the door. This month’s box sticks to the classics of the season – a bold berry lip and festive red nails. It’s a bit of a bow to the party season – see what’s inside the Glossybox Mistletoe Kisses Christmas box as I unbox it now on the blog!
I have a serious issue with lipstick quickly wearing off and if you are going for the Kylie Jenner matte lipstick look then you will want to try Lipcote which is a lipstick sealer. This product is great and can be used with any lipstick – you just need to apply it over blotted lipstick and I promise your lipstick won’t budge for the night. Even through the spiced cider and mulled wine!
You see a lot of people at Christmas – family members who you only see once a year, friends who you haven’t seen for years – the list goes on. The last thing you want when seeing all these people is dull skin. You can totally fake this for the night even if you are tired with the Essence Light Up Your Face Luminizer Palette. This product is actually quite good for the value. It comes with three powders of varying shades/highlight so you can use this to just brush over the tops of the cheekbones, down the bridge of the nose and on the top of the forehead for a Christmas glow!
I am so excited by the next product in this month’s Glossybox that I just can’t contain myself. This MDM Flow lipstick (the founder used to create these herself in her kitchen) in Vamp is right down my alley. I love a vampy, berry lipstick and I’ve been wanting to try a lipstick from MDM flow for a long time. MDM Flow the brand is inspired by hip hop – it’s just so cool. And the colour is so this season you can’t help but slay, slay, slay.
Red is the colour of Christmas – if Santa wears it, it means you have to wear it. And you just simply can’t go wrong with classic red nails at Christmas. This Revlon Nail Enamel in Valentine is a gorgeous deep red and the polish is also chip resistant and lasts up to 10 Days. Which come on, you will need over the Christmas holidays. Because there are better things you can do besides fixing a mani, like watching Chevy Chase’s Christmas Vacation.
And last but not least you certainly need a good set of brows for Christmas so the Collection Define & Perfect Eyebrow Powder is key. I’ve tried this one before and it’s quite good. The powder contains tiny fibres that stick to your actual eyebrow hairs to create the look of a fuller and thicker brow. And who doesn’t want more voluminous brows?
