K-Beauty Alert! Korean Beauty Box Launches

If you have followed my blog or Instagram @beautyrocksblog at all you will know I have a thing for Korea (I’ve been there four times now!) and especially a thing for Korean beauty. You may not know this but I lived in Japan for four years and spent quite a bit of time around Asia. And in Asia, Korean beauty is very popular. I’m excited to see that it’s popularity has now spread to the West and we are embracing all things K-Beauty! I was really excited when I found out that there is actually a Korean beauty box that has launched in the UK called Inspire Me Korea. This past month they launched the ‘Cleanse Me’ Beauty Box which is all about cleansing the skin and nourishing the skin. The box contains all Korean beauty brands which is fantastic as a lot of them are tricky to find in the UK. So if you are a bit of a K-Beauty fan then check this out!

The first item in this box that immediately caught my attention (because they are one of my favourite Korean beauty brands) were the Innisfree sheet masks. I literally just picked up a few of these on my last trip to Korea a couple of months ago but one can never have too many! There are a generous amount of masks in the box – four of them. There is the Innisfree Rice Mask which is smoothing and brightening and contains Jeju green tea (Jeju Island is famous for green tea), the Innisfree Manuka Maks with Manuka Honey from New Zealand (the best), the Innisfree Rose Mask (love this one – super calming and good for stressed out skin) and the Innisfree Tea Tree Mask (good for skin prone to break outs).

I love using a sheet mask when my skin feels like it really needs some help! These are great to use on the weekend when you have a little more time and all you need to do is apply it to your face for 20-30 minutes and then massage the remaining serum left over into the skin. I also use the serum on my neck and chest area as well for added hydration. You cannot beat a sheet mask and the Koreans make the best ones!

Another one of my favourite Korean beauty brands is Etude House. Etude House (if you visit one of their stores in Korea) looks like a real live doll’s house – it’s pink and girly and the packaging and products reflect this mentality. If you are in the mood, you will love the playful attitude of Etude House products and they make some pretty interesting ones (read my post on the brow tint gel HERE). The Inspire Me Korea Cleanse Me beauty box has the Etude House Pure Water Baobab Cleansing Foam. If you like a foaming cleanser then this is a really good one. I do like a foaming cleanser in the evening because I feel like that’s the only thing that will remove all of my make-up. Baobab (from Africa) as well is a key ingredient that you will see popping up in beauty products all over the place soon as it’s known for it’s high levels of antioxidants.

And to help you remove that make-up? There is the Half Moon Eyes Sponge which feels really squishy and soft to the touch. I had not heard of Half Moon Eyes (the brand) previously but I do really like this sponge. It is really soft and gentle on the skin so if you have sensitive skin this would be a nice cleansing tool to use.

And last but not least we have the Etude House Green Tea Nose Pack. Nose packs are really big in Korea – I’ve seen them quite a bit and also Holika Holika makes a good one! These are good if you suffer from black heads on the nose and it helps to clear the pores. I’ve noticed that from living in London my pores get dirtier faster because of pollution so these are also great if you live in a big city!
