I’ve got a new beauty brand on my radar and I’ve known about it for some time now but was never able to try out the products until now! Trish McEvoy has now launched in Harvey Nichols (also available in Liberty where it is a best-seller) and is a make-up and skincare brand founded by Trish herself. If you don’t know who Trish is then let me tell you – she is a visionary make-up artist that started her brand with one of the beauty industry’s first range of professional brushes. The brand has loyal fans and it doesn’t take long to see why. The products are really, really good. Here’s my experience…
It is definitely the moment for liquid lips. The question is do you prefer a matte or a satin finish? I am loving a satin finish these days simply as they feel much more moisturising on the lips and the Trish McEvoy Liquid Lip Color (I’ve got the colours Power Red, Mauve and Nude) do not dry my lips out at all! If you love a matte finish but matte lipsticks really dry your lips out then I would highly recommend these and give them a go. They are really pigmented as well so they really pack the punch and the finish is a silky matte that doesn’t dry the lips.
Serious why hasn’t anyone thought of this before? A planner for your make-up that is so perfect for those on-the-go it really couldn’t get any better. This one is patented and it’s the world’s only portable make-up vanity. Seriously – this is so so cool and it holds so much. It also saves so much space in your bag – the planner has refillable ‘make-up wardrobing pages’ (yes a page for your palette!) and each magnetic mirrored page can be custom-filled with any combo of eye/face colour. The lid of your page is also windowed so you can see what’s inside. There are three different planner sizes – I have the mini and it is amazing. There are also pockets to stash brushes and eyeliners, mascaras and lip colours. Absolute genius! I’ll be toting mine around on planes, trains and automobiles.
So inside it I’ve tucked away…
I’m a bit obsessed with this mascara because it’s a tubular one. Don’t know what a tubular mascara is? Well let me explain. This mascara forms water-resistant tubes around the lashes that doesn’t smear and the ‘tubes’ slide off with warm water at the end of the day. This kind of mascara curls the lashes to make them look longer and ‘open’ the eye more. Big points on consistency.
Okay now if you tend to look tired like me then this is a brilliant product to try. This is a fabulous under eye brightener. I’ve had so much trouble with under eye concealers that make me look a lot older as they settle into fine lines. This is actually a treatment and the consistency is light and almost whipped – it’s so easy to blend. If you just create a triangle under the eye with the Instant Eye Lift you will immediately see the difference – the entire area looks a lot more brighter and you will certainly look more awake (even if you are not)!
I’ve actually gone off of eyebrow liner completely once I started to try this. I think a brow mascara just makes your brows look a little bit more natural than a liner and fills in the sparse areas naturally. You can use this one and build up the color – the formula has little fibers that add volume and the look of full brows. And the micro-tip allows full control over the application. I challenge you to switch your eyebrow liner or gel liner for a week and try this instead for a more natural brow look.
I love a product that can multi-task and this is one of them! This little pencil you can use on both cheeks and lips on the go and the formula is silky smooth so it’s really easy to blend. I think the colour is quite flattering for a wide range of skin tones and I also think that you can build this colour up depending on your skin tone.
This is the sexy stick as I like to think of it – it literally creates those smoky eyes and also cat-flick eyes – whatever you want. The navy colour is really modern and gives an edge over black and the consistency of this liner is amazing – it’s in a stick form but actually a gel so it glides on really softly. It also has a built in sponge so you can smudge away to your heart’s delight. The pigment is also super intense and the colour payoff lasts for ages.
I am a big fan of the double cleanse for the face so I need a face wash that is quite gentle. Therefore I really like this Gentle Cleansing Wash from Trish McEvoy because it really does gently remove make-up and all the grime from the day without feeling like it stripped your skin. It’s also a huge size so it lasts forever!
This is probably one of my favourite products in this post. I’ve been using the Beauty Booster cream religiously since I got it. It’s brilliant because it’s a primer/mask/moisturiser in one so you can either use it as a hydration mask or use it as a moisturiser or primer. I’ve been using it as a moisturiser and primer every single day. It makes my skin feel plumped and hydrated and I like the texture. It also doesn’t feel greasy at all. I like the pump formula as it’s more hygienic and this one gets big points from me because it does make my skin look plumper. And when you are 30+ that means a lot!
And my other favourite product in my Trish McEvoy haul is the Instant Solutions Triangle of Light Eye Mask. This eye mask was an absolute lifesaver for me while on holiday in Korea. With the long flight and dryness from the plane basically sucking the life out of my skin, these eye mask pads helped me not look so tired and also smoothed out fine lines. I used them after cleansing, left them on for 10 minutes (although they work in 5 minutes) and then finished the rest of my skincare routine. These definitely help perk up the eye area and brightens, plumps and smooths. A must-have if you have eyes that often give away your age or if you need to prep for a special event and need to look your best. They are super easy to use and you can easily interject them into your routine. Trust me, eye masks are the bomb if you have dark circles and fine lines!
If you are a fan of acid exfoliators (think AHAs/fruit acids) then Trish McEvoy’s Beta Hydroxy Pads are a good choice because they make it really easy to exfoliate. If you don’t want to use a scrub then give these a go as they use Beta Hydroxy acids to dissolve dead skin cells. These are pads so you just have to take a pad and apply gently over the face in a circular motion to exfoliate. Do this after cleansing and before using a serum or moisturiser as the exfoliation pads will help your other products absorb better. There is no point in letting dead skin cells soak up the goodness of a product so using these pads once every day (good at night) really helps to brighten skin and also clear it up. And a real time saver as well!
