Top 5 Fresh Fragrances for the Weekend

The weekend is when you feel wild and free – or at least I feel that way. There is something lighter about the weekends, perhaps it is that relief that we can do what we want, when we want. The pressure is off compared to a weekday and for me, the fragrances I wear on the weekend reflect that mood. Now I have a wardrobe of fragrances – just like shoes – and I like to pick out what I want to wear according to my mood. So here are my five top fresh fragrances for the weekend – something lighter and brighter!

Top 5 Fresh Fragrances For The Weekend

1. Calvin Klein Obsession For Her

I absolutely love this scent – it’s fresh and peppery. I actually think this scent could get away with being unisex but there is a sweeter underlying note in white lavender along with creamy musk. This is a perfect scent for the cool girl – one who doesn’t like overly sweet scents or fruity florals. This is sexy, peppery and fresh for the everyday girl. I love the simplicity of the bottle and the packaging – very cool. This one’s a keeper for my wardrobe of fragrances and it will be going at the very front.

2. Angel Schlesser Peonia Rose Eau de Toilette

After smelling so many floral fragrances recently this hits you like a fresh burst of spring air! What hits your nose first is citrus – zesty and fresh notes of bergamot, lemon and mandarin are what grab your attention with this fragrance first. Once the fragrance dies down the citrus notes give way to the floral heart of the fragrance which is none other than the pink peony – the namesake of this fragrance. This fragrance is a happy one – it’s bright and zesty and great for those dark grey days of winter and fall that loom ahead. The fragrance does settle after awhile and become more refined with base notes of cedar, iris, musk and jacaranda wood. But overall this is a fresh and uplifting fragrance. The British winter is a long one so best to prepare now. This would pep you right up on those darkest of days.

3. Roger & Gallet Extrait de Cologne Neroli Natural Spray

I love the scent of Neroli so this fragrance is pretty much right down my alley. It’s described by the perfumer Fabrice Pellegrin as ‘a radiant orange flower with a touch of salty playfulness.’ This fragrance is fresh and fun – perfect for the weekend when you are feeling a bit more light and free. The notes in this fragrance are of course neroli essence, orange flower absolute and cedar, small grain, angelical seeds and vetiver and what I like most about this fragrance? That most of the ingredients are of natural origin making this a more natural spray amongst other perfumes. Add this one to your list – it launches in September 2017!

4. Roger & Gallet Extrait de Cologne The Fantaisie

This is a bright and pretty fragrance with a bit of spice added in with black tea extract, benjoin resinoid, santal extract and essences distilled from cardamom, coriander, clary sage and vetiver. The notes explain exactly why this is a fresh, spicy fragrance – peppery to the nose but absolutely gorgeous. I love that there are some unusual notes in here such as Clary Sage and Coriander and these give the scent its fresh feel. This fragrance is perfect for everyday – it’s light and breezy and settles well on the skin. I think it would suit a number of people as well being so agreeable. This is the latest fragrance from Roger & Gallet (a Parisian brand going since 1862) so I’m giving you a sneak peek as this fragrance launches in September!

5. Roger & Gallet Extrait de Cologne The Vert Fragrant Wellbeing Water

I am absolutely in love with this fresh, vibrant scent of green tea. No wonder it’s called Wellbeing Water! It definitely lifts the mood with citrus and woody scents inspired by the tea fields in Mt. Fuji, Japan. The mood is all about delicacy and harmony – relaxed wellbeing in a bottle. I do think it’s uplifting and cheerful with notes of green tea blended with guayacan wood, petitgrain and caraway infused with fresh lemon, grapefruit and mandarin. What I really get from this fragrance is the fresh leaves of green tea with citrus – it’s the perfect scent for a day out with friends or to spritz occasionally at your desk at the office for a mood-boosting lift. Again this launches in September so keep your eye out!
