I’ve got so many places that I’ve been to but still so many more I want to travel to! One of those places on my travel lust list this summer is Florence, Italy. It’s one of those places that ticks all the boxes for me with history, food and sights to see. So I’ve pulled together a little guide about what to see and do and where to stay in Florence.
Where to Stay
A great place to stay in Florence that is centrally located and near to the Duomo and Republico Square is the B&B La Dimora degli Angeli. And with views of the Florence Cathedral how could you say no? This is a charming property to stay in, right at the doorstep to some of the most gorgeous sites in one of the world’s most beautiful cities.
To all you travelers out there it’s worth giving this B&B a look into. Each room has its own unique style which is cool to see when you are traveling. Because that’s why we travel isn’t it? To see something different. You don’t have to take my word for it. Just look at the ratings from travel sites. TripAdvisor has it at 5.0 out of 981 reviews.
For me it would be the Duomo. This church was constructed in 1296 so just think about the history that it holds! The amount of time it would have taken and the attention to detail within the Cathedral are mind-boggling. Another place I would love to see in Florence would be Ponte Vecchio which is a medieval stone bridge. As a blogger and Instagrammer I just love to get that shot in so this would be an ideal place to get some fabulous snaps. I also love to shop so certainly wouldn’t mind a trip to Gucci and Prada either!
What to Eat
Well, for me if you’re in Italy of course it’s pizza! Honestly I can never get enough pizza. When I visited Rome previously I swear I ate my way through the city! Also, if you follow me on Instagram (HERE), you will know that I’m a coffee addict. And Italy has some of the best coffee in the world. So definitely hit up the coffee shops nearby before you venture out and spend sometime watching people go by. In America they have a saying “don’t trust anyone who doesn’t like dogs.” In Italy it’s “don’t trust anyone who doesn’t like pizza and coffee.” And I so agree with that one!
