• Sol de Janeiro Acai Body Power Cream

This is probably the most fun body cream I’ve ever come across! From the fun, uplifting Brazilian packaging vibes to the product itself this is like an acai bowl for the body. I haven’t yet come across a body cream built around açaí oil and this is so very Brazilian – and I never met a Brazilian person who wasn’t happy-go-lucky. This cream smells amazing and the light pink formula absorbs really well for a non-greasy feel on the skin. I like non-oily creams for the winter because you need to put on clothes right away (it’s cold!) so I like a product that sinks in fast. Good enough to eat, the Acai Body Power Cream has nourishing cupuaçu butter and super-conditioning coconut oil. A super fun beauty buy indeed.

• Emporio Armani Because It’s You Eau De Parfum

I’m a bit obsessed by fragrances – honestly I just can’t get enough of them and I literally have a wardrobe of fragrances for every mood. One that came to my beauty desk this week and was also personalised with my name (extra points!) was the new Emporio Armani Because It’s You Eau de Parfum. I’ve included this fragrance in my feel-good beauty round up because above all things this is a fun and playful fragrance that is also feminine enough to make you appreciate being a woman. However, there is something sultry that lingers in this fragrance as well making this a good one for both day and night time wear. It’s got neroli, rose absolute, vanilla and musk so you can see where I’m going when I say it’s playful, uplifting and feminine with a bit of sultry edge thrown in for good measure. And who doesn’t love that?

I’ve always been a fan of boutique perfumerie Shay & Blue and the Atropa Belladonna is no different with its intoxicating rich and fruity scent of cassis berries, jasmine, white narcissus and patchouli. There is something sweet yet spicy about this fragrance with the swirl of berries and patchouli. This is a rich fragrance, inspired by the deadly nightshade which was a rare plant eaten by 17^th century Venetians to dilate the pupils. I’m quite happy the cosmetics industry has more regulation now! But we can appreciate the lengths that people now and in the past, have gone to achieve beauty. This is a gorgeous scent and one that people will definitely ask you where it’s from when you wear it.

To intensify the scent, I would recommend fragrance layering – i.e. using the body lotion and then spritzing the fragrance over it for a long-lasting uplifting scent that will stay with you all day! Flowerbomb the fragrance can’t help but make you smile with the notes of patchouli, jasmine, freesia and centifolia rose – gorgeous! And a perfect scent to brighten up a cold day.

I’m so busy and get fatigued with all the overwork I do to myself so I’ve often considered getting a vitamin drip but I’m scared of needles so was never brave enough to do it. I am obsessed by gel manicures because I have no time. I love the fact that they last several weeks and require no upkeep. They don’t chip and stay glossy and beautiful.
