September is all about organic beauty and I’ve been testing out a few UH-MAZING organic beauty treats lately. People are becoming more and more concerned about not only what they put in their body but also what goes on their skin. Green beauty has never looked better people! It used to be that only women who were pregnant paid extra special care to what cosmetics and beauty care products they were using but now it’s become a bit of a trend. And a good one, at that. Here are some of my favourite green and clean beauty brands and products of the moment.
Luxury Green Beauty: My Top Picks For Organic September
Romilly Wilde is one of those very beautiful luxe natural brands that does both science, natural and pretty very well. The products are luxurious and expensive but it is worth noting that they are also very well thought out and a brand of clean skincare that the founder, Susie Willis spent hours testing on herself and working with a top cosmetic scientist to develop before they got it just right.
The ingredients in the products are 100% natural and smell incredible. The Light + Energy Serum Cleanser actually doubles as both a cleanser and a mask with 25 active naturals. The texture feels amazing with its oil-based formula and the great thing about this cleanser is that it’s even better massaged in. If you are a fan of a night time cleansing ritual then this one is for you. The more you massage in, the better it is as more and more actives are releases and the product then sinks deeper into the skin. You can then leave this on as a mask so that it penetrates even further. I like that this product contains Arnica Flower in it because arnica is typically used to soothe sore and achy muscles. My face gets quite tense through the day so taking two minutes to massage this on is quite the treat at the end of a long day.
Another luxe natural product, the Romilly Wilde Advanced Super Cell Serum is a ‘superfood serum’ for the face. Again this is a 100% natural serum with supercharged plant actives that feed the skin and promote regeneration, increasing the elasticity of the skin by 82.4%. Wow. This contains super seaweed for antioxidants, essential oils for fatty acids and nourishment, high grade hyaluronic acid to plump and hydrate and extracts of osmanthus and green mandarin which give it a fresh scent. The formula is actually bright orange due to Saffron flower which actually makes it very fun to use. How many serums are naturally orange, after all?
Upon trying this out, I first noticed the lovely uplifting and fresh scent of the formula and of course the colour, which has an instant naturally brightening effect. My skin also drank this up quite quickly and the product doesn’t leave your skin feeling greasy afterwards. Superfood for the face this is for sure – watch this space and this brand.
Strangely enough I have been looking for a natural perfume and this Romilly Wilde Idle EDP does not disappoint. The scent I found was also quite long-lasting for a natural perfume and stayed on for a few hours. The fragrance I must add is gorgeous – a woody but fresh scent with notes of green blossoms so it’s not overly feminine. Because it’s got both a fresh side and woody side this is the kind of fragrance that can cross over into all seasons – it certainly has a place on the shelf for any occasion as well – from daytime to night time. What you can pick out from this scent as well is a heady aroma of jasmine which is the note that actually stays with you through the day. This is a very unique scent and not one I’ve smelled before – quite unique in its own special way.
Again the girls at Sister & Co know how to make an incredible, natural product bursting with the most delicious scent. If you have used coconut oil as a moisturiser in the past you will know that it’s solid until the heat of your hand melts it into an oil which can then be massaged onto the body. Again, this is another product that smells and looks good enough to eat with cold-pressed raw apricot and almond oils combined with premium grade shea butter. This is 100% natural and made with certified organic ingredients. Simply take a dab, warm it in your hands and apply to areas of the skin that need a bit of extra hydration. I actually loved putting this on my dry feet and then putting on socks overnight for silky skin the next morning. It’s also infused with Sicilian lemon and Madagascar vanilla – again, good enough to eat.
OMG. Never have I smelled a body scrub that smells this amazing. Honestly I poured some of this in my hand and was impressed. The punchy delicious smell that hits your nose is due to a powerhouse of natural ingredients and smells fabulous. I lived in Japan for four years so was instantly drawn to the fact that this product contains ceremonial grade organic Japanese matcha green tea. Matcha is about 10 times more powerful than normal green tea because the entire leaf is ground into a fine powder that you drink so you get ALL the antioxidant goodness.
What else makes this scrub so good that you want to eat it? Well Himalayan salt (good for detoxing), raw organic coconut sugar and loose leaf green tea is what makes this scrub extra ‘scrubby’ but it’s the Baobab oil and matcha that give it a bit of an antioxidant kick. The blissful scent comes from rosemary, lemongrass and jasmine which is simply divine and cold-pressed jojoba oil, grapeseed oil and coconut oil nourish and soften the skin. A beautiful, natural scrub that will also lift the spirits!
