It’s safe to say that natural products are finally in the spotlight and for very good reasons. People are more and more concerned about what is going inside their body that they are also focusing on what they are putting on it. I’ve been trying some amazing natural brands over the last few weeks and have come to love some of them, which I’ve put into this edit. Here’s seven great natural skincare products you have to try!
7 Great Natural Skincare Products You Have To Try
When the days get colder and drier I always reach for an oil. A brand that I’ve been using for ages and always recommend to people who like organic and natural beauty is Antipodes. The brand comes from New Zealand and uses high-quality ingredients that have scientifically been shown to increase collagen levels in the skin. I love a natural brand that can really prove it’s worth using plant actives and Antipodes is one of those brands.
This Antipodes Divine Avocado and Rosehip Face Oil is exactly that – DIVINE. It feels super luxe on the skin and nourishing with vitamins and antioxidants and it’s also been proven to stimulate Type 1 collagen in skin cells by up to 51%. This is a great product for the winter evenings in the rest and repair state. I promise you will wake up with glowing skin!
I absolutely love this Paw Paw ointment and use it for everything – on rough patches of the skin, on the lips, on my nails and cuticles. I even started patting it under my eyes and on top of my make-up as a natural highlighter than both moisturizes and disguises fine lines. Honestly, it’s better than any primer out there – try it! The ointment contains fermented Paw Paw, a blend of natural oils, wax and extracts including Castor Seed Oil and Papaya Fruit Extract. I will be taking this with me everywhere in the next few months!
I’ve spoken about pigmentation before and I suffer from melasma which is a pigmentation problem on the skin which seems to have been activated since I’ve lived in London. Therefore, I’m always on the lookout for brightening products for the skin which target pigmentation.
The Apostle Skin-Brightening and Tone-Correcting Serum is a bit of a hero in the Antipodes line-up and also contains a lot of New Zealand-sourced ingredients such as Waiwera (mineral water) and Vinanza Oxifend which helps to prevent skin cells from becoming stressed to reduce redness. A fabulous serum to wear in the daytime and then switch to the Antipodes Divine Avocado and Rosehip Face Oil at night.
I’m a huge Burt’s Bees fan and use a lot of their products including their lipsticks and also their Overnight Intense Hydration Mask. So needless to say, it didn’t take me long to get into this Intense Hydration Night Cream. I’m a big fan of the Clary Sage in the Overnight Hydration Mask so happy to see it also features in the Night Cream as well. This is a perfect product for the colder months as well – it’s super hydrating and soothing when your skin is getting used to the seasonal changes. It’s no fuss, natural and just what your skin needs when the weather is going wild.
I absolutely love a facial oil and I simply cannot get enough. When my skin is feeling particularly dry, dull and dehydrated (hello winter) I always reach for an oil. The Urban Veda Turmeric & Botanics Radiance Facial oil contains brightening liquorice with anti-inflammatory organic turmeric and antioxidant-rich papaya – again it ticks that brightening box for me. It feels soothing going on and best to use this at night when your skin is resting and repairing. Top it up with a rich moisturiser and your skin will be glowing in no time at all come morning.
I was super excited to discover the Antipodes Moisture-Boost Natural Lipsticks, especially after learning that women can ingest up to something like 3KG of lipstick in their lifetime (either absorbing it through the skin of the lips or swallowing it when eating or drinking). That’s a lot of lipstick!
I was really impressed by the pigment of the Antipodes Natural Lipsticks and if you are looking for a natural lipstick then their range is definitely worth checking out. They also feel fabulously moisturising (and suitable for vegetarians) with plant oils such as avocado oil, calendula oil, evening primrose oil and argan oil.
If you are familiar with Ayurvedic skincare then you will know that there are 3 constitutions – Kapha, Vata and Pitta. I hover somewhere between Kapha and Vata so was really excited to try this Urban Veda Turmeric & Botanics Daily Radiance Facial Wash which specifically is for the Vata dosha. I’ve got issues with hyperpigmentation so when shopping for skincare I’m always looking for those that are all about brightening. Luckily this facial wash ticks the brightening box with a formula that contains brightening botanics and extracts. It all starts with cleansing so it’s important to choose the best cleanser for your skin type.
