At Home: A Few of My Favourite Things

I have been wanting to do a home post for a while now and I would really like to get more into the home interiors posts as well. As I get older my interests are changing and home interiors have really got a hook on me now. But in the meantime I’ve got a few of my favourite things I’m using around home at the moment from candles to fabric softeners (yes, really). These are all items that bring me a little joy by making my life either easier or bringing a little bit of a joyful moment to me in my everyday life. Read on to discover what they are!

Malin + Goetz Leather Candle

If you haven’t smelled a Malin + Goetz candle then you haven’t lived! They are so so lovely and the Malin + Goetz Leather Candle is an out-of-this world FAB scent that encompasses leather, musk, incense and amber. This is a heady candle and one that kind of reminds you of opening an old treasure chest or sitting by the fire. It’s quite a seductive scent and one that is masculine as well so it would suit both a man or a woman. I love these kinds of musky, heady scents (says the girl who loves an oud or patchouli scent) and this is the perfect candle for me to make a room feel cosy and comforting.

Elemental Herbology Body Essentials Muscle Melt

So here’s a little secret. I’m a bit of a grandma – that’s right 30s going on 70s right here. I love hot tea time, hate clubbing and like to be in bed by 11pm latest. I also tend to get quite achy often and this is not really from working out but more from a generic fatigue that I have when I’ve been really busy. I try to reduce any muscle fatigue and tiredness with weekly or bi-weekly Chinese acupressure massages which really help but sometimes when I can’t book one in or don’t have time I like to give myself a massage at home using muscle balms or arnica gels. So I was really thrilled when I found out that Elemental Herbology has just launched a Muscle Melt that smells and feels really warming and nice. It contains ginger, Ho Wood and Turmeric to warm muscles and encourage circulation. The Muscle Melt really does melt into your hand and muscles and it does provide a nice warming feeling. So if you do suffer from achy muscles and fatigue this is a really nice muscle balm that isn’t too overpowering but still does the job.

Elemental Energy Book

I’ve been interested in crystals for a while and good/bad energy, chakras – the whole thing. So I was thrilled when Elemental Energy arrived at my doorstep. It’s written by the founder of luxury crystal-infused skincare line Sjal (who I’ve written about before HERE). The book is absolutely stunning and it’s a coffee table book really, one that is beautifully presented. It’s a book that both beginners and advanced practitioners of crystal healing would find really inspirational. The book is all about how to incorporate crystals into your modern-day life and how to harness their power for optimum energy and wellness. A great read for a lazy Sunday and a beautiful one, indeed.

Perricone MD Super Greens Multi-Vitamin + Multi-Mineral Apple-Flavoured Drink Mix

I love being healthy but I hate the taste of most powder supplements such as wheatgrass and spirulina. In fact, spirulina makes me actually gag it’s so disgusting. So lo and behold, I was delighted to come across the Perricone MD Super Greens Multi-Vitamin + Multi-Mineral Apple-Flavoured Drink Mix because guess what? They actually taste good and it’s now one of my favourite things ever. I also think they were the reason I DIDN’T get sick during London Fashion Week (read about my busy schedule HERE). And again if you can’t trust a doctor brand who can you trust? We all know Dr. Perricone is a fan of the rainbow diet and antioxidant-infused skincare. The powder also comes in single serving sachets to make it easy for people who don’t like mixing up health drinks to actually go and do it. The mix contains phytonutrients, antioxidants and also probiotics. And they really do taste nice. Take it from a girl who gags on spirulina.

Lenor Perfume Fabric Conditioner Parfum Des Secrets Kiss

I never ever thought I would be writing about fabric softener (or conditioner as this one is called) but here we are. The thing is that this is a bit different from your old run-of-the-mill fabric softeners in that it’s a luxury fabric softener that contains a scent that is very similar to a fine perfume with notes of passionfruit and amber. I was convinced when I used this to wash my clothes and sheets over the weekend – it was bliss to slide into those sheets that night because they just smelled so darn nice. The scent lasts longer on clothes than perfume does so if you are disappointed in the scent of your perfume disappearing fast, the Lenor Perfume Fabric Conditioner Parfum Des Secrets Kiss is a less-expensive alternative!

Philips Steam & Go Plus

Honestly I don’t know what I did before the Philips Steam and Go because I take it everywhere with me. I’ve written about it before HERE and I’m happy to say that Philips has now just launched the Steam & Go Plus which is an upgraded version of the original. This one comes in black and rose gold and it’s super pretty. I use this steamer when I’m travelling because obviously when you pack your clothes no matter what they always get wrinkled. And you can’t nail a perfect Instagram shot on the beach or on a city break with wrinkled clothes! To this date this is my biggest seller of one item on my affiliate programme as well. People love it! The Steam & Go Plus has continuous steam that comes out for faster results. I simply hang my clothes on a hanger and use it that way. It’s super easy and comes with a heat resistant pouch so you can store it right away as well. Honestly this is one of my necessities for travel now – I can’t live without it!

Love the sound of the Philips Steam & Go Plus, I hate the faff of ironing especially when on holiday and this sounds like a great alternative x
