I’m incredibly picky about the hair styling products I use. I like them to be natural (or nearly natural) and also not weigh my hair down or make it feel overly ‘styled’. Stiff and crunchy are not words I like to be associated with my hair! I’ve recently found some amazing (some full and some semi) natural hair styling products that are naturally-derived and are also amazing for fine hair! So read on for my top picks this month…
I love texture sprays but not ones that make my hair feel stiff and unnatural. If you feel the same way then the Moroccanoil Dry Texture Spray is a dream – it is super lightweight and doesn’t feel greasy either. My hair tends to get greasy quite quickly so I need products that don’t add to that if you know what I mean. This texture spray is perfect for that ‘I woke up like this’ kind of look that I love – effortless and undone – think messy waves and perfectly tousled.
Another amazing dry shampoo from Aveda. This one I have been using non-stop since I got it and it’s fabulous at removing oil from the roots. It’s also 99.8% natural! Which is an amazing feat for dry shampoo, really. It smells lovely and to dispel it you simply squeeze the bottle. A poof of powder comes out so just position it close to where you need it and then massage into roots. Great for travelling as well.
Because I have fine hair it often goes limp which is quite sad really. I LOVE the Aveda Thickening Tonic and again it’s a product I’ve been using for a little while now. It contains organic Amla fruit, it’s 97% natural and all you have to do is spritz it on damp hair after you get out of the shower and work through from root to ends. It does thicken and provide some volume to the hair so it’s great for those with fine or thin hair that needs a bit of oomph!
Klorane Eco-Friendly Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk
I LOVE Klorane dry shampoo and have been using it for a couple of years now. It doesn’t smell of horrible chemicals and this one is a non-aerosol one that works without propellants so it’s better for the environment. I like this dry shampoo because it’s strong enough to eliminate greasy roots and also adds a bit of texture as well. A great buy if you are looking for a natural dry shampoo.
OMG I cannot live without dry shampoo and again I’m quite picky about them. I don’t like ones that smell too much like chemicals but I also need them to be at a higher strength simply due to the fact that because my hair is so fine it does pick up oil quickly. This Moroccanoil Dry Shampoo is specifically for lighter toned hair like mine (they do have a darker-toned one too) and it’s lovely. It doesn’t smell of chemicals and in fact it’s formulated with ultra-fine starch to naturally soak up oil. It also has argan oil to help nourish and subtle violet undertones to get rid of any brassiness in the hair. And it has UV protection. Is there anything it doesn’t do?
Thicker hair in a bottle? Yes, yes, yes. The Moroccanoil Thickening Lotion uses quinoa proteins (apparently good for your body AND your hair) to thicken strands. It also of course contains the signature ingredient of argan oil and again you use this on damp hair after showering and simply apply from root to tip for thicker, more luscious hair.
