I love make-up for the lips, eyes and nails – I like to think of them as accessories for my face. Yes, I know that sounds incredibly weird, but it makes sense at the same time. It’s good to focus on either the eyes or the lips if you really want to make them pop and not overdo both at the same time for fear of the overdone look. Nails of course you can always have as glam as you want! Here are some of my favourite new spring make-up launches this month.
For the Lips
Rodin Olio Lusso Luxury Lipstick (shades Pinky Winky, Berry Baci, Loving Lucy, Heavenly Hopp and Arancia Adore)
OMG if heaven came in the form of a lipstick then the Rodin Olio Lusso Luxury Lipstick would be THE one. Everything from the packaging to the pigment – these lipsticks are perfection. They are the kind of lipsticks that you would be so happy to just have sitting on your vanity to stare at all day. I also love that these are super nourishing with rose and lavender flower wax, enriched with apricot and argan oils as well as jasmine and neroli oils. Honestly this is like super luxe balm in the form of a lipstick. The finish is a creamy matte and I love that the formula feels so nourishing. These lipsticks don’t come cheap, but I always think that if you are going to splurge get a nice lipstick. They make all the difference in the world. And nothing is more transformational than a beautiful lipstick.
Sisley Paris Phyto Lip Twist (shades Ballet, Ruby)
Sisley products are always good. You know when you spend on them that they are going to be good so in that case you can never go wrong. The same can be said of the Sisley Paris Phyto Lip Twist. I’ve got the shades Ballet and Ruby which are the two shades that literally everyone needs – a nude dusty rose and a show-stopping red. The tip of the Lip Twist is so sharp as well that it makes it really easy to define the lips without a lip liner. These are beautiful, matte finishes as well but don’t dry the lips out. They come infused with plant-based active ingredients as well, so you know that what you put on your lips will be good for them. Bonus points, right?
And for the lips you cannot go wrong with another Pixi Pretties product which is the Pixi x Dolce Candy Dulce’s Lip Candy palette. The creams can be used on both the lips and the cheeks and I love the creamy texture. It feels quite dewy on the cheeks and moisturising on the lips so this would be a great palette to take with you travelling as it contains so many colours in one palette – nine to be exact!
You can see the shine on this from a mile away. I was instantly impressed at the shine power of this gloss which is full force patent leather shine. I love the colour Squad as well because it’s great for everyday wear.
Buxom Plumpline Lip Liner (Intrigue, Dolly Danger, Incognito)
If you are looking for something that will give you a plumper lip then the Buxom Plumpline Lip Liner is perfect. It’s a lip liner that doubles as a lipstick because it comes with a built-in brush so you can outline the lips and then blend in to create an ombre lip or just fill in the lips with the whole liner to get a super-pigmented colour. The pigment is quite soft and blendable and it didn’t feel drying at all to my lips. Again, I love the colours here – especially the show-stopping coral.
For the Eyes
Pixi always partner with the most amazing vloggers and beauty bloggers for their Pixi Pretties collections. With this new eyeshadow palette they have partnered with beauty blogger Weylie Hoang (who I instantly went and followed on Instagram of course) and the palette is stunning. I have to say that all six of the shadows I would absolutely use in a heartbeat. I also like that they all come in different finishes – some matte and some shimmery. The palette also comes with a 2-in-1 black kohl pencil and liquid eyeliner that took some serious scrubbing on my hand to get off. In other words, it’s going to stay put. The pigment in these shadows are really soft and easy to blend – stunning!
Chloe Morello is the 3rd Pixi Pretty that Pixi have collaborated with and I’ve been following her for awhile for her honest and candid videos. Chloe’s palette is called Palette Chloette which is inspired by love and romance. The shades are oh so pretty indeed – not too dark and perfect for a naturally flushed glow. The shades are apricot-amber, ballet pink and rosy coral and the palette also comes with six eyeshadows as well which also double as brow powder. So, this is one hard-working palette we have here folks! You won’t be disappointed…
OMG did someone say petite? Yes that’s right. By way of Lookfantastic I got my hands on an Urban Decay Naked Petite Heat palette. Yes this is a mini Heat palette which is sooo perfect for travel or in the handbag on the go. The palette comes with six Heat shades and the compact even has a mirror so you can touch up on the go. I mean seriously, why hasn’t anyone thought of this before? It’s bloody brilliant! I’m a long-time fan of Urban Decay shadows so I’m quite happy to get my hands on this.
OMG this is my new favourite eye product which I have been using non-stop. It’s a liquid eyeshadow so it goes on really nicely and you can build it up as well. I like to apply onto my eyelid and blend in for a really weightless sparkle. This is a great colour for everyday and don’t be thinking this is super glittery because it isn’t. It’s actually a lot subtler on the eye and you can build it up for more va va voom as well.
OMG I love these little corner lashes from the latest collab between Eyelure and Emma Willis (who has amazing eyes by the way). These lashes are for those who like a natural lash because they are just accent lashes that you can put on the corner of your eye for a bit of extra lash oomph. Super natural and pretty, I will definitely be wearing these through the summer.
You know sometimes when you can really tell that someone is wearing false lashes? I don’t really want people to know I’m wearing false lashes if I’m wearing them – you know what I mean? Eyelure has just launched a new False Eyelash Blender which takes care of that tell-tale gap between your own lashes and the false lashes. So no one will ever be able to tell you are wearing falsies every again, promise!
For the Nails
I was recently a newbie to false nails because I had always been worried about the damage that false nails could cause. Well, enter Nail Saviour from Elegant Touch. This protects natural nails from the glue that you need to apply to use false nails. Basically, it’s easy as – you just brush it onto your natural nails and it forms a barrier between the glue and your nail. So, your natural nail never touches the glue! Brilliant right? I tried it myself and can verify that no nails were harmed in the process.
When my nails don’t look right I don’t feel right. If my nails are chipped and ragged I feel ragged. So, if I have an event or somewhere I need to go, I want to make sure my nails look amazing. But what if there is no time? Well, Elegant Touch have some fab-looking nails called Insta Nails that would cost a pretty penny if you were to actually have the same look done at a nail salon. They have the cutest designs and are perfect for an event or night out!
Do you have any spring make-up must-haves that I need to add to my list? Let me know!
