How to Do French Girl Make-Up in 10 Minutes

French girls have always had that certain je ne sai quoi right? There is something so effortless and so chic about the way they apply make-up – a glamorous yet understated look. I’ve always thought of Parisian beauty and French girl make-up as a bold lip, no eye-makeup and fresh skin with a bit of bedhead thrown in for good measure. And always, always – good eye brows.

French girl make-up

In this post I’m recreating a Parisian, French-girl chic look (partnering with) using Artistry Studio, who just launched their Parisian Edition collection, inspired by the city of lights. I chose 3 products to recreate a French beauty look which is a lip product, a brow product and a cheek product for that just-flushed, fresh skin. My idea for this look was to go minimal on the eyes, with a pop of colour on the lips and fresh skin with just a pinch of colour on the cheeks. And nicely shaped eyebrows to frame the face. The whole look takes well under 10 minutes to create so it truly is effortless.

First up let’s talk about lipstick. Lipstick to me is one of the most transformational make-up items out there – it can brighten up your entire face. It’s great to use if you feel tired and want to lift the face or if you want to use it for a night out.

The Artistry Studio Parisian Edition collection has four shades of Liquid Lipstick which are all absolutely stunning with glossy formulas that don’t dry the lips out. My favourite shade of the four (Bastille Berries, Louvre Lilac, Mona Lisa Melon, Notre Dame Nude) is the Mona Lisa Melon which is a bright poppy coloured lipstick that adds a real punch to any look. After applying a light base of BB cream I used the Mona Lisa Melon on the lips and within seconds created a bold lip.

Next up are the cheeks. I love a bit of colour on the cheeks and am a huge fan of cream formulas. The Artistry Studio Cheek & Lip Duo are LOVELY for creating just a hint of colour on the cheeks and I love that you can use this on either the cheeks or the lips. You also get two colours in one as these are multi-toned with two shades on either side. So, you can use one shade or mix the two to create a custom shade – it’s up to you! My favourite of the three shades is the Pantheon Peach. I love a peach shade because I think it’s more youthful than a pink shade and really lifts the face, no matter what skin tone you have. The formula comes in a stick applicator so it’s super easy to just swipe on and the formula is creamy so it blends really well too.

For a French-beauty inspired look I skipped the eye make-up and mascara too because all you really need is a pop of colour on the lips. However, you should always have well-groomed eyebrows and mine are a bit sparse so I always have to fill them in. I absolutely love the Artistry Studio 3-in-1 Brow Shaper – it’s AMAZING. It’s a gel formula and comes with an angled brush (shaped like the top of the Eiffel Tower – so cute) that makes it really easy to sculpt your brows into shape. I’m using the shade Crème Caramel.

Overall, I’ve been really impressed with the Artistry Studio products – the formulas are great and the products are very good and I wouldn’t say that if it weren’t true!
