Hair Trends 2019

Toni & Guy for Pam Hogg AW19 London Fashion Week

I was lucky enough to get a sneak peek of the action backstage for the Pam Hogg AW19 show with Toni & Guy, who were creating all the backstage looks. I spoke to Indira Schauwecker who is the Head of the Toni & Guy team backstage to ask her what her inspiration was for the Pam Hogg AW19 show. Because Pam’s show for AW19 was all about erotica with leather, tight corsets and fur it’s no surprise the hair was full of glamour. The hair was kept sleek with a touch of shine mist to finish it off and a slight under curl on the ends. Sophisticated and easy to re-create yourself.

Marcus Lupfer for L’Oreal Professionnel

We saw the return of the low ponytail at the Marcus Lupfer AW19 show with L’Oréal Professionnel. Seeing as the collection had a lot of large trapper hats and chunky scarves, hair was kept minimal and off the face with the low pony. I also saw quite a few hair tucks under the sweater as well which I absolutely love and is a perfect look if you are thinking of going shorter but can’t get up enough courage for the chop. You can simply tuck your hair under your jumper for an instant bob effect with no post-salon regret.

Bora Aksu for L’Oreal Professionnel

Now sadly I missed this show as I had train issues but I’m still keen on covering the trend as the team at L’Oreal Professionnel sent over some images and videos from backstage so I was still able to have a virtual peek backstage at what the team were up to. The hair trend for Bora Aksu was all about texture and in fact, a trio of textures for the same head of hair! I’m talking a different texture for the crown of the head, the mid-lengths and the ends – so moving from ‘hazy’ hair (slightly messy) at the top to shiny ends. Definitely a bit of controlled bed-head going on with this trend but paired with the right look, I think it’s a keeper.

Nail Trends 2019

Kure Bazaar for Roland Mouret AW19

I love Kure Bazaar when it comes to nails – the brand is non-toxic with formulas that are 90% of natural origin and free from toxic chemicals. And they do some amazing work at London Fashion Week, making nails look glamourous and effortless at the same time. For Roland Mouret AW19 it was all about ‘Glossy Nails’ for the girl next door. I love the Roland Mouret look in general anyways – it’s natural and effortless but super chic and this year it was all about loose, oversized clothes for the effortless look. The nails matched the whole vibe of girl next door using the French Nude shade plus Final Touch to create chic, effortless nails.

Kure Bazaar for Peter Pilotto AW19

We can all agree that the looks for Peter Pilotto AW19 were glamourous and dreamy and the nails were no different. The nail team used shade Rose Snow plus Final Touch to create a look for the ‘modern party girl’. The shade is a gorgeous dusty rose so it’s perfect for everyday – from the office to drinks with the girls.

Kure Bazaar for Roksanda AW19

Roksanda Ilincic shows always bring a tear to my eye – they are simply beautiful in every sense of the word. The dresses are dreamy and floaty – it’s all a bit magical. The look is very feminine so the nails matched the vibe here as well with the shade Beige Milk plus Final Touch for a barely-there look. I love barely-there nails as well because no one can ever really tell when they chip so they tend to last a bit longer! It’s safe to say the nail trends for AW19 are barely-there, simple and effortless – and what’s wrong with that?
