The Best Travel-Friendly Beauty Products to Take On Your Next Trip

I’m all about that travel life – nothing makes me feel happier or more free when I’m on the road or discovering a new place. I’m the girl whose beauty bag weighs more than the clothes for her trip though – I pack A LOT when it comes to my favourite beauty essentials. Yes, I try to streamline it but sometimes you just need what you need. The little comforts from home and the luxury beauty you can’t live without. Therefore, I wanted to write a post about the travel-friendly beauty products that I love packing for my trips and why.

St. Tropez Bronzing Mousse In Whipped Marshmallow

I’m a huge fan of self-tan. We all know how damaging the sun is for the skin and I shudder to think of myself as a younger teen literally frying myself in the sun, trying to be the girl with the best tan at school. Now I’m trying to reduce any damage caused from those years and very rarely tan now, instead relying on the world of fake tan to get that golden glow. I’m loving the St. Tropez Self Tan Whipped Marshmallow Bronzing Mousse – it smells incredible!

If you hate that fake tan scent, then I would highly recommend this formula. And it doesn’t just have a pretty face, it works too with a tan that lasts up to 10 days. Perfect for warmer holiday destinations as well so you can rock those little dresses and short skirts with the (fake) tan of your dreams. Better than damaging your skin right? I tend to pop on a layer the night before my flight so that I’m ready to go by the next morning and then top up mid-way through the holiday.

John Masters Organics Leave In Conditioning Mist

The sun really dries my hair out. So does the winter so I’m screwed either way! I love taking a leave-in product for my hair so that it doesn’t end up looking like straw by the end of the trip. I’ve recently been loving the John Masters Organics Leave-in Conditioning Mist. It’s lightweight so it’s a great product for fine hair and it also detangles. My hair gets so tangled by the wind so I find it’s a lifesaver. It also contains green tea and Calendula so helps combat damage caused by sun and environmental factors. It’s your hair’s new best friend on holiday.

Bubble T Bath Popsicle Fizzer in Summer Fruits Tea

Now I don’t have a bath at home so something I always look for when traveling is a hotel with a bath! I love unwinding at the end of the day with a bath, I find it’s a real treat. Some people are shower people, some people are bath people. I’ve always been the latter and love a good old hot soak in the tub. I can never resist tossing in a nice-smelling bath bomb and the Bubble T Summer Fruits Tea Popsicle Bath Bomb Fizzer smells like a bowl of fresh berries. And again, it’s not just a pretty face – it contains white tea and goji berry extracts to help nourish the skin and it’s a paraben-free beauty brand too. I love to pop one of these in my travel bag – plus it doesn’t count as a liquid so win-win.

Australian Body Care Tea Tree Oil Skin Wash

I’ve never been a fan of washing my hands with a bar of soap – I’m not sure why. Hence I prefer a liquid soap to wash my hands and often hotels only have mini bars of soap. Therefore, I even pack my own hand wash sometimes. The Australian Bodycare Skin Wash is great because it doubles as both a hand wash and a body wash. And the tea tree is naturally anti-bacterial so it works at getting rid of any grime from the travel in the gentlest, most natural way. I love the fresh scent of this and the fact that it doubles as two products makes it even more travel-friendly.

Trinny London BFF Eye

Now under eye concealer is not an easy thing to make and I hold my hands up to the brands that can make it because it’s hard area to work with because some product tends to crease. One brand (and woman) has managed to do it beautifully is Trinny London with their latest product which is the Trinny London BFF Eye.

I’ve always been a fan of applying product with my fingers because I find that the warm of my fingers helps to blend the product. I’m also a fan make-up that has skincare benefits and the Trinny London BFF Eye has not disappointed as it contains hyaluronic acid, vitamin C and peptides. The product also blends beautifully and does not cake. I love that it comes in a pot because it’s so easy to travel with. Also if you tend to go minimal on make-up on your holiday it’s great to use just to cover areas of concern as you can use it on other areas besides just under the eye. Travel-friendly beauty indeed!

3INA The Cream Eyeshadow

Again travelling with beauty products housed in a pot makes it a lot easier to squeeze inside your skincare bag. 3INA Cream Eyeshadow is a pot eyeshadow that I absolutely love – it blends like a dream and lasts surprisingly a long time. You can build up the colour as well so if you want to go natural during the day and a bit more glam at night to hit the beach clubs well, with this you can.

Omorovicza Peachy Micellar Cleanser Discs

I like to cleanse my face right after getting off the plane and I don’t like wearing much make-up on the plane, if any at all. The Omorovicza Peachy Micellar Cleanser Discs are an easy on-the-go solution to quick cleansing. You can literally use them on the plane or as soon as you get off or both. The pads remove dirt, grime, oil and make-up so it’s easy to cleanse your face while you are travelling. The discs smell lovely too with a hint of rose, peach and patchouli.

Ameliorate Intensive Lip Treatment

My lips get SO dry in the winter and also when I travel long-haul. I NEED a lip balm in my life pretty much at all times. I hadn’t tried many products from Ameliorate but when I tried the Ameliorate Intensive Lip Treatment I was hooked on the brand. If your lips are dry and cracked then this is a great lip treatment to try – it’s got lipids, amino acids and a hydration complex that restores the skin’s barrier. Great for travel too.

Frank Body Lip Scrub

On the subject of dry lips, I love using the Frank Body Lip Scrub to get rid of any dry flaky bits of skin on the lips either before or after travelling. It smells heavenly and feels heavenly too with raw sugar, coffee and ethically-sourced beeswax. Perfect for dry lips.

Guerlain Black Bee Honey Balm

When travelling I’m obsessed with balms. I love a multi-purpose balm and they are great because with them you can really streamline your beauty essentials when travelling. Balms can be used as moisturisers, as lip balm and I also use them as a highlighter. The Guerlain Black Bee Honey Balm is one of the best of the best with high concentrations of Ouessant Black Bee Honey which has been show to help the skin repair itself. This one you will definitely want in your handbag at all times for top-ups on-the-go.

Beauty Pro Restore & Renew Set

I love taking sheet masks with me when travelling and putting them on right after getting to the hotel room and after cleansing my face. My face gets so dry after flying long-haul and I find they really help put the moisture back into skin. And who makes the best sheet masks? Yes, you already know – it’s the Koreans. Beauty Pro is a K-Beauty brand who makes amazing sheet masks.

I love the Beauty Pro Restore & Renew Set because it contains 5 of the brand’s best masks which include the Rejuvenating Collagen Mask with Green Tea Extract (for rebalancing and reducing redness), Nourishing Collagen Mask with Olive Extract (for plumping), Detoxifying Foaming Cleansing Sheet Mask with Activated Charcoal (for deep cleansing), Black Diamond Peel-Off Mask with Activated Charcoal (for purifying and brightening) and the Eye Therapy Under Eye Mask with Collagen & Green Tea (great for helping a fatigued eye contour and dark circles from that red-eye flight).

Algenist Genius Liquid Collagen Lip

Recently I went to the Canary Islands and my lips got so dry I had to reach for the Algenist Genius Liquid Collagen Lip which is an incredible lip treatment that delivers a burst of hydration to the lips without feeling sticky. It’s like a gel meets lip oil hybrid in regards to the formula and feels lovely and slippery on the lips. All of the products from the Algenist range use algae and their products do claim to work in 10 days!

The Algenist Genius Liquid Collagen Lip smooths, nourishes and also helps to make lips fuller. We all know fuller lips equal a more youthful look and this lip treatment is pretty cool, using hundreds of beads of Microalgae Oil in collagen water in the formula. I love the ceramic tip as well – it’s super soothing on sore, chapped lips and it’s also great as an overnight treatment for lips. I don’t like to skimp on lip products and I do believe this is worth a splurge.

Pixi On the Glow Multi-Use Moisture Stick

Welcome to your new in-flight beauty hero – the Pixi On The Glow Multi-Use Moisture Stick. I am OBSESSED with this solid moisturiser (it looks kind of like a solid deodorant) that you can take anywhere with you for a top-up of moisture on-the-go. What I also like about this is that it’s multi-purpose – meaning that you can use it on face, body, lips and hair. I like to apply it to the tops of the cheekbones and under the eyes on a flight for an extra added boost of moisture. In terms of travel-friendly beauty products it’s one of the best because it saves on packing room – we all know how hard it is to fit all your travel-friendly beauty items in ONE plastic bag on a short-haul European flight right?

Africology Anti-Ageing SOS Spray

I’m a huge fan of a facial mist – I literally carry them everywhere. You can find them in my bag, by my desk and also on my bathroom sink. The Africology Anti-Ageing SOS Spray can also be used on the body which is great because I like to apply it on my décolletage in the evening after my nightly bath or shower and before my neck cream. The SOS Spray contains hyaluronic acid (our hero) for hydration as well as Padina Pavonica to boost collagen production. You can also use it as a toner and as I said I love to spray it on my face and décolletage area before applying night-time moisturiser. It also has a unique herbal scent which is quite refreshing. Great for freshening the skin whilst travelling.

CeraVe Moisturising Cream

CeraVe is to the US pharmacy beauty brands what La Roche Posay is to the French pharmacy beauty brands – it’s cult, it works and it doesn’t cost the earth. I’ve been waiting for CeraVe to launch in the UK for a long time. We hear so much about French pharmacy brands but there are some amazing US pharmacy brands too.

If you suffer from dry skin in the winter and are looking for a dry skin remedy, then the CeraVe Moisturising Cream is a fab one to add to your list. It’s packed full of ceramides and hyaluronic acid (the magic word) to help moisturise and protect your skin’s natural barrier which can become dry from indoor heating in the winter. It also contains a technology that allows controlled release of the moisture over a 24-hour period – how good is that? Developed by dermatologists, it’s a great cream for parched skin.

Lumity Anti-Ageing Food Supplement

I’m big on supplements try not to let that slide when I’m travelling. I’ve been taking the Lumity Anti-Ageing Food Supplements when travelling to really give my skin what it needs when it might be under stress from change in diet, temperature and ozones. They come in easy-to-pack jars and you just take 3 Lumity Morning Softgels when you wake up and 3 Lumity Night Softgels before you go to bed. The supplements not only help your skin but also help protect your cells from oxidative stress which can go up when travelling. So they are pretty much your fix for both skin and body nutritional needs. They contain Omega 3s and amino acids among other powerful ingredients that offer a full body and skin solution so it’s easy to take when travelling because they cover every need, including supporting a healthy immune system. I don’t know about you but I tend to sometimes get ill when travelling so it’s important to maintain your health while on-the-go!

Pixi Glow Tonic Cleansing Gel

My goodness I’m really hooked on Pixi skincare right now – there’s just so many products that I am really enjoying using right now. The product lines from Pixi are getting more and more innovative, no doubt inspired by Korean beauty on quite a few of the products. Everyone knows the cult classic Pixi Glow Tonic but I would also recommend taking a look at their other skincare products because they have really expanded on the ranges. My newest fave is the Pixi Glow Tonic Cleansing Gel. If you like the Pixi Glow Tonic you will love this cleanser. It’s a gel formula that removes all traces of dirt and make-up and contains glycolic acid, aloe and ginseng. Great for waking up the skin in the morning and getting your skin ready for a full day of travelling and sightseeing.
