I’ve recently collected so many Pixi beauty products that I’ve decided to have a Pixi field day and do a Pixi beauty haul post! Pixi has recently had some really cool collaborations with some pretty big influencers which I will talk about and also have some AMAZING new facial mists that I just have to tell you about.
First of all, I cannot even begin to describe what a mist fanatic I am. I have a mist with me pretty much everywhere I go and generally love just spritzing away. I keep one by my desk while I’m working, one in my bag and always carry one for long-haul flights. Once you discover the joys of spritzing you won’t ever look back. I’ve gotten several other people hooked so I just know it’s true! So Pixi has four amazing mists that each do something special. I love each of them for different reasons so will tell you about what each one is good for.
So first up is the Pixi Glow Mist which is my current deskside skin savior. With indoor heating and extreme winds outside my skin needs a bit of a boost during the day. The Glow Mist contains 13 natural oils and is as refreshing as a cool dip in a fresh-water lake – or at least as close as you will get to one during the day! This feels great on the skin and if you rely on coffee for a perk-me-up consider adding a spritz of mist to your face for the same uplifting, energising effect. The Pixi Glow Mist is great for deskside because it relieves redness and irritation but also replenishes skin at the same time. Over the day I can literally see my face deflate so it’s great to have a mist on hand to help boost the moisture levels in my skin. A little secret about this one? You can also spritz in palms and smooth through hair to tame flyaways.
Hydration! My skin’s saviour. My skin is actually really dehydrated so I do think that for me a mist is necessary. The Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist is all about – you got it – HYDRATION. What makes this mist so juicy is the hyaluronic acid that helps to attract water and maintain moisture levels. This mist would be my long-haul flight saviour or used as a hydrating toner that I apply before putting on serum. It’s brilliant – it really is. If your skin needs a good ole’ drink then I would recommend this mist for you.
A great mist to apply after putting on make-up is the Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist. This will help to set make-up so that it lasts longer and doesn’t ‘melt’ throughout the day. This mist is a pretty pink colour and is infused with rosewater and green tea. The rosewater is balancing while the green tea provides antioxidants to boost the skin. I have combo skin that gets quite oily on the t-zone so my make-up in that area tends to slide. I started using primers and make-up setting sprays and really noticed a difference. I also noticed a difference from using hydrating sprays throughout the day to keep my skin and make-up looking dewy.
Another good one for a long-haul flight is the Pixi Vitamin Wakeup Mist. This is fabulous for tired skin. And let me tell you, my skin feels tired by the end of a busy day making this also the perfect mist to carry in your handbag. The mist contains nutrients that counteract fatigue and signs of dullness and the citrus scent literally makes you think of oranges and sunshine. If the scent isn’t enough to pick you up then I don’t know what will!
Pixi has also recently collaborated with four beauty influencers with their #PixiPretties collection and I’ve spoken about the Caroline Hirons Double Cleanse HERE but in addition they have also collaborated with Maryam Maquillage (who if you don’t know here has nearly a million Instagram fans!). This is someone who is always perfectly preened with high definition make-up to rival KKW.
One of my favourite products in the #PixiPretties collection is the Pixi + MARYAM MAQUILLAGE Strobe & Sculpt Highlight & Contour Palette. I am nearly useless at contouring but this palette makes it pretty easy to become semi-pro in a heartbeat. There are three highlighting and three contour powders in the palette to suit a wide range of skin tones. I would highly recommended having a look at some of Maryam’s tutorials so you can see exactly how to chisel your features to your own liking.
I’ve recently fallen back in love with highlighters. We parted for a bit but now I’m keen on them again and especially the Pixi + ASPYNOVARD Glow-y Powder Highlighter. The Santorini Sunset is more on par with my skin tone and I love to brush this just on the top of my cheekbones for an extra glow.
My other favourite product in the new #PixiPretties collection is the Pixi + ITSJUDYTIME Get the Look ItsLipTime Lip Colour Palette. I recently had my make-up done and the make-up artist that did my make-up used a lip palette with a lip brush and I was so impressed! My lipstick looked amazing and it was drawn on perfectly so I am really enjoying this method of applying lipstick. All you need with this palette is a good lip brush and you are good to go. The shades are really suitable for anyone with pinky-nudes, hot pinks, warm corals and rich berry hues.
I hope you enjoyed my pixi beauty haul! Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram @beautyrocksblog for all my latest adventures in beautyland.
