Sunday is my night to treat my skin to a little bit of self-love. The weeks are usually so busy for me so Sunday is my night before it all starts again to really relax and use all my favourite products, so that I’m fresh and glowing for Monday, ready to start the madness all over again! Here are some of my favourite Sunday facial products to use.
Pixi is one of my favourite brands – they have such good make-up and skincare products. If you haven’t tried them yet, you really must! The Pixi Rose Cream Cleanser is a new one from the brand and I love a cream cleanser for a Sunday night facial because cream cleansers really allow you to massage your face and gently cleanse your skin for the several steps that will follow. The Pixi Rose Cream Cleanser smells like a garden of roses and contains mineral-rich mud to soften skin, along with chamomile and aloe vera. It’s a gentle cleanse and a perfect one for the mornings or for the start of a facial.
I like to follow my cleanse with a toner that will help rebalance my skin and isn’t too harsh. The Pixi Rose Tonic is of course perfect to follow up the Pixi Rose Cream Cleanser with. Again, it smells like a bed of roses and it’s calming and soothing to the skin.
Pricey but well worth it, the Sisley Black Rose Cream Mask is a beautiful soft creamy mask that helps to instantly plump the skin. If your skin looks really tired and slack then this is a lovely mask to use and a little bit goes a long way. If I want to look really fresh for the week then this is my go-to mask. It contains black rose extracts and vitamin B5 among others. The most noticeable difference is that it softens and plumps the skin. It’s great for exhausted looking skin and yes it’s expensive but it does feel like a special treat once a week. You simply need to apply to skin, leave on for 10 minutes and then gently wipe off any excess. However, I actually slept in mine and my skin felt super soft and velvety the next morning.
Emma Hardie is a celebrated facialist so I would think she certainly knows a thing or two about facials and in particular, masks. The Emma Hardie Moringa Renewal Treatment Mask is her newest launch and if you feel like your skin is really dehydrated then this is a great one to use. It also smells incredible with the moringa oil. Again, it’s super easy to use – all you have to do is apply to clean skin and leave on for 10 to 15 minutes and then rinse off. However, it is worth noting that you can leave it on overnight and should for brighter, firmer skin the next morning.
If you are looking for a detox mask then look no further than the Goldfaden MD Facial Detox Pore Clarifying Mask. If you have had a recent breakout or your skin is being troublesome then using this will help clear it up. It works to minimise pores, calm redness and reduce blackheads. It also regulates oil production – how good is that? So, for oily skin, acne-prone and unbalanced skin this is a great mask to use. It also doesn’t over dry the skin like some of these kinds of masks do. It’s a fabulous spot treatment and prevention and 1x time per week is recommended for use. And you can always trust the dermatologist brands – they know what they are doing!
I had been wanting to try Tata Harper for as long as I remember and when I got my hands on the Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask from The Apartment for London Fashion Week I was thrilled. If you want a mask that also works like a mini peel to get rid of dullness and dead skin cells then this is a fab little mask to use. The mask is 100% natural and it’s like a gel texture so sinks into the skin really quickly. It also smells incredible. If you are looking for that glow, then this is a great mask which uses fruit enzymes to cut through all the dead skin cells and eliminate them. Glow in a bottle, I say.
Masks for Hands and Feet
I love treating not only my face on a Sunday night but also my hands and feet. The Seoulista Beauty Sheet Masks landed on my doorstep this weekend via Lookfantastic and honestly they are FAB. If your hands look old and tired then the Seoulista Beauty Rosy Hands Instant Manicure Masks works in 30 minutes to nourish skin, nails and cuticles. It’s great if your hands have been feeling particularly dry like mine had been. Winter is so hard on hands, so treat them nicely!
Along with the Seoulista Beauty Rosy Hands Instant Manicure Mask there is also the Seoulista Beauty Rosy Toes Instant Pedicure Mask as well which has the same ingredients (Bulgarian Rose Oil, Beeswax and Aloe Vera) and works on bringing hydration back to dry feet in 30 minutes. As I said winter is over and it’s nearly sandal season so best treat those toes and feet to some much needed hydration!
Don’t like to wait around whilst using a hand mask? Well Holika Holika, another favourite Korean beauty brand of mine has created a Hands and Fingers Masks that nourishes cuticles and nails but is also smartphone friendly, so you can still be on your phone while you are masking away. I know my cuticles have been so dry lately so I used this mask over the weekend and my cuticles are so much happier now!
