When I travel, my skin tends to get dry from the change in temperature and the flight. When that happens, I always reach for one of my hydrating skin creams that I know is going to bring my skin back from the dead and give it the bounce that it needs for all those holiday snaps. Dehydrated skin is a common problem so I’ve been testing out some super hydrating skin creams that my skin has taken a liking to. I’ve gathered my top five together here.
We lose collagen as we age so it’s important to add it into your skincare routine and diet because collagen is the architectural structure of the skin and keeps it standing up. Losing collagen is like losing the building blocks to your skin – similar to a decaying building over time or a sagging roof. However, you can add it into your skincare routine and also take a collagen supplement.
Algenist have fab collagen products and collagen and alguronic acid are the key ingredients in their formulas. The Algenist Genius Sleeping Collagen cream is a fabulous night cream that contains not only the previously mentioned two ingredients but also ceramides and Mary Thistle within a nifty delivery system to make sure it reaches your skin’s deepest layers while your body rests and repairs. My skin drinks this up as well and my skin feels soft and bouncy the next morning after using it.
I love Sisley Paris creams because they are simply so luxurious and velvety to use. If you enjoy your vanity table moment and a nice evening ritual with a luxurious cream, then the new Sisley Velvet Nourishing Cream is perfect. This is an in-between season which can be confusing for the skin. We suddenly get hot days, followed by cold days and the temperature can change dramatically between season. I know my skin can sometimes get irritated like it’s not sure what to do.
When that happens I strip back my skincare and tend to use a cream which is more nourishing. Therefore, enter in the Sisley Velvet Nourishing Cream. It’s got Cottonseed, Macadamia, and Sunflower Seed oils that are rich in omega 6, 7, and 9 and help restore the skin’s lipid layer which might be irritated or lacking due to the change in temperature. The cream really does feel velvety smooth and it’s a joy to use with the scent of Honey and Orange Blossom. It’s also super plumping so my skin gets a nice boost whenever I use this.
I’ve really gotten back into eye creams these days and now use one every day – a different one for daytime and night-time. If you haven’t tried Cult 51 then it’s definitely a brand to look into – I love their face creams too. The Cult 51 Eye Repair Cream is clinically-proven to reduce fine lines around the eyes (I love a clinical claim by the way) so you know it’s been tested to actually work. There’s nothing worse than spending a lot of money on a skincare product and feeling like it hasn’t worked for you and dashed all your hopes. Not with this one. It does firm and lift the area as well and the more you use it, the better it works. Simply tap onto the skin around the eyes (never tug) day and night. It’s great for hydrating the eye contour and decreasing that fatigued look around the eye.
I love Image Skincare and if you haven’t tried any of their products I would highly encourage it! The Image Skincare Vital C Hydrating Water Burst is my latest love from their range – it smells like sunshine in a tube. The texture is what I like the most about this product – it’s a gel texture that contains encapsulated antioxidants, hyaluronic acid, vitamins and peptides that actually activate upon application onto the skin. It’s a great all-around product for any skin type and for those who don’t like heavy creams or an oily-finish then this is a fantastic cream to use. I would highly recommend it as a men’s skincare product as well as all the men I know love a lightweight cream with no oily finish. This brightens and hydrates too – something we all need right?
I’m very familiar with Ritual’s body care range but I had yet to try any of their skin care products until now with the Rituals Ritual of Namaste Radiance Anti-Aging Day Cream. The marble jar feels like pure luxury and the cream itself is very hydrating due to a blend of natural emollients and oils so this will really help your skin’s moisture barrier. I love the texture and the scent of this cream and the fact that it really melts into my skin to help restore moisture with Holy Lotus and Saffron Flower which also help target fine lines too.
