Lots of people only use facial oils. I tend to go back and forth. I use a face serum most of the time and then about once a week I like to use a facial oil to really get the glow back into my skin and to help replenish the lipid layer in my epidermis. There are so many facial oils out there it’s hard to know which ones to try. Here are the best facial oils to try right now because of their ingredients – I’m talking CBD, retinols and honey (yes, really). Read on to see why these oils are the best facial oils at the moment.
CBD oil is a hot topic in skincare right now due to the fact that CBD can really help to reduce inflammatory conditions, redness and serious calm the skin down. It’s also a great anti-bacterial oil as well so it’s one of those oils that’s good for people with spots. Radical skincare doesn’t mess around – they are a serious clinical skincare brand so if they are using CBD oil in their products well that means something. The Radical Skincare Rejuvafirm CBD Oil is packed with antioxidants and vitamins that help to soothe irritation and inflammation. This would be the perfect post-holiday skincare product to use after you have spent a lot of time in the sun. It’s also a great anti-pollution skincare oil and fights against free radical damage. What’s not to love?
We all know that Argan oil (indigenous to Morocco) is really nourishing to skin and one of the best facial oils, due to the fact that it has really high levels of Vitamin E (150% more than olive oil). Vitamin E is essential for skin health and what I love about argan oil is that you can use it for so many things – hair, skin and nails so whether you need a cuticle oil (I do) or an overnight hair mask you can use argan oil for those things. The Inka Botanicals Moroccan Argan Oil is a fabulous oil that I personally like to use as a facial massage oil for my Sunday Facials. If my skin is particularly lacking oil I add a few drops to my moisturising for an added glow.
I love a unique texture when it comes to specific skincare products and the Guerlain Abeille Royale Youth Watery Oil is one of those special ones. The Abeille Royale Youth Watery Oil has the power of a serum, the richness of an oil and the freshness of a lotion all in one product. Quite something, let me tell you. If you want an oil/serum hybrid then this is a great product to try if you are just dipping your toes into the wonderful world of facial oils. The two key ingredients are the Ouessant Black Bee Honey and exclusive Royal Jelly. My skin felt hydrated and smooth after using this product and I love the hybrid formula that seems to melt into the skin.
Retinols. If you haven’t been using them where have you been? This is the single best ingredient you can use that will scientifically kick-start your skin into action. Essentially this stops your skin from getting lazy which too many oils and too many products of a certain kind can do. Retinol actually makes your skin work hard by stimulating it into repair. The Pixi Overnight Retinol Oil is an oil which will make your skin work hard by evening out the skin tone and has added peptides which firms along with ceramides that provide ongoing moisture. I mean they pretty much thought of everything with this one didn’t they?
When we think of cult beauty products the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate is ALWAYS on the list. This is a night-time serum that aids your skin to regenerate during the rest and repair phase of your sleep. People absolutely love this product so it’s definitely worth including. If you have dry, dehydrated skin this will work a treat with omega-6 fatty acids, lavender, evening primrose oil and squalene. And good news is that the ingredients are 99.8% naturally derived.
I actually had no idea that 3INA did skincare so was really surprised when the 3INA The Oil Drops landed on my beauty desk. I’ve only ever known 3INA for some amazing make-up but their Oil Drops are also pretty fantastic too. Essentially you can add these to your favourite moisturiser or even to your foundation for added glow. I’ve got the Detox oil drops which contain Argan and Sweet Almond Oils to help nourish skin whilst also defending against pollution and replenish lost vitamins, proteins and salts in the skin.
